The hotel exterior and location is a 5/5 it is absolutely beautiful. The food at the barn was great.  The rest of the stay was pretty terrible 
For 700$ a night we stayed in room 205.  The room i booked was ocean view king with deck.  This room was a window fire escape with a view blocked by the fire escape.  It would have been beautiful if it had a deck.  The sheets had stains on them, the nespresso machine not stocked and when I went to ask the front desk for a pod, I was told they don’t have anymore.  
The website says complementary breakfast. It is not. They don’t open until  7 and you can not get coffee or anything before that. It’s an overpriced cafe. 
I would def come back for a drink or bite on the property but will not ever stay here again

Great place to eat not to stay

We had a great long weekend at the Inn at Spring House in early spring, 2022.  We've stayed at many spots on the island, and this is a standout.  The building is quite new, and simply but tastefully furnished. There was an odd snafu (unrelated to the property itself) and the staff was very responsive with an upgraded room.  The b'fast chef was excellent, and he does double-duty up at the wonderful Barn restaurant.

Kevin is a fantastic manager.  Worked with us over the whole trip from booking to when we had to leave.  We had to leave early due to a nor-easter, but we were offered the room we were in at a discounted price in the event would could not catch an earlier ferry.  The chef does an amazing job on breakfast, he has an awesome prepared menu, but is very accommodating if you want or need something else. Will definitely be returning to the Inn at Spring House!

Amazing visit

We tried to find the nicest place to stay on Block Island and the reviews lead me to choose this Inn associated with the Spring House Hotel. It was pricey but we wanted to splurge. It wasn't a bad experience at all; it was a so-so $200/night hotel for more than double the price.

When we got there, the building was empty with no staff or directions about how to check in. Finally some guy showed up and gave us our keys and said almost nothing. The room seemed updated but tiny with cheap furniture, a musty odor, a clock radio capable of docking the first iPhone set to the wrong time and a shared porch with no particularly charming view. The walls were paper thin and one time when I was using the bathroom I could hear the guy in the next room right next to me doing his business with great clarity. I could hear quite clearly the people above us having intimate time.

The "chef prepared breakfast" was totally weird. The person running it told us there were two kinds of omelets and those were our only choices. They were fine. The next day we were told we could choose our omelet toppings which were sparse. Then we started noticing the people around us with other kinds of food including a yogurt parfait, a bagel sandwich, orange juice, english muffins. We were never told there were other options. I went and asked for a bagel and english muffin and she gave it to us. There was a little container of muffins and pastries sitting there but I wasn't even sure if I was allowed to take one. If it wasn't so hilariously weird I would have been irritated.

We never complained. We are not picky I promise you. If the hotel were $200/night and we were not trying to splurge on a luxury hotel I would have been fine and not written this review.

Block Island is great. We rented mopeds and had a good time. The food was good at the main restaurant but the hotel experience was just plain weird. I would wholeheartedly recommend staying in the historic main hotel even if the rooms aren't as updated or, better yet, finding a different place.

Overrated and bizarre

The room was amazing. We had a second floor room with a wrap arond deck and an amaznig view. Very well appointed and updated. We had a great experience with all of the staff we encountered. Kevin was very nice and able to check us in without any problems. Also the chef, Brian, was great! He made amazing breakfast in the morning and made us feel at home. 
Overall we had a great experience and would recommend the hotel to anybody going to Block Island. Many times hotels on the island are iffy, this one was completely updated and well worth the cost!

Amazing view and amazing staff. Great experience!!

We stayed in an ocean view room for a 3 night romantic getaway.  We are regular vacationers on the Block, but this was our first time at Inn at Spring House.  This place has great value for the cost.  The Inn is centrally located in town, with stunning views.  The rooms are ample and nicely appointed, though the rooms could use some wine glasses in lieu of plastic cups.  The rate included a delicious breakfast.  After breakfast, the staff was sparse, but as long as you don’t expect 24/7 service, it works well.  Cannot beat the value, location and views!

Excellent value!

We came to enjoy a few days away from the everyday. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were family. Friendly staff, impeccable room, with a beautiful deck where we enjoyed sunrises and sunsets. A little piece of heaven everyone should experience.

Beautiful & Relaxing

For a special trip, I booked two nights at the Inn in a second story room. With service fees and taxes, the total came to about $800 per night. For that price, I expected a luxury experience. The Inn did NOT deliver. No water glasses, one towel per person, a very limited view and limited staff on hand. At checkout, I asked to speak to a manager; was told that he was offsite that day and that he'd contact me to discuss my concerns. The manager did not followup.

The service at the main Spring House building (separate from the Inn) was excellent, as were the meals. My complaint is focused more on the price/value of the Inn, which was more in keeping with a mid-level chain hotel. If you want the Spring House experience, book a room in the main hotel and skip the Inn.

Luxury Priced, But NOT a Luxe Hotel

We made a last-minute reservation to stay at the Inn at Spring House. We had a wonderful room, very reasonable room, and liked it so much that we extended our stay by a day. The breakfast was excellent and the wine and cheese social at the end of the day turned out to be just that: a nice wine and cheese social.
Kevin, who was in charge while we were there, seemed always available, answered all our questions, and both drove us to and picked us up from a hike into Rodman's Hollow.
We would definitely like to stay here again.

Great place, Kevin is terrific

Fantastic hotel on Block Island, although the ferry ride was terrible, Kevin made the stay wonderful in every possible way, he makes every guest feel special, goes out of his way to help, provided us with a great wine and cheese party, helpful on how to enjoy our stay and was a wonderful host available to us 24/7.  Kevin really cares about his guests and treats them  very well.  The breakfast was wonderfully prepared by Carter with fresh ingredients having it made to order.  I encourage everyone to stay here for the quality of the rooms, bedding and toiletries are all high end. No corners are cut with the addition of having a wonderful host and chef.  We plan to come back again because of the wonderful experience
