We were staying on a camp site just up the road from The Sheffield Arms and we ended up eating there two days running , the food was excellent , the beer was superb and the  young  staff were friendly , keen and all looked happy to serve , it's a 10/10 from us and we'd have no hesitation in recommending this fabulous establishment .

Superb pub in a lovely little village. The staff were really attentive after a minor mix up with our reservation, thank you. It has a really welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious. We would love to go back.

I'd recommend combining the pub with a walk along the Alkborough Trail that starts just behind the church next to the pub to the village of Alkborough. Even our young children managed it with ease. Take your wellies!

Just had a delicious Sunday carvery. Selection and taste was amazing. Roast meats, pies and casseroles. Every veg you would expect and more. Delicious gravy. Serving staff were friendly and efficient. Couldn't fault anything. Great value too!

We haven't been to the pub for some time but we were told it had been taken over and the changes were amazing especially concerning the food.  We therefore decided to give the pub a 'go' and we found-Superb staff, atmosphere and of course food,  definitely will return, many thanks 

A very tasty three course festive meal in comfortable surroundings, served by pleasant and attentive staff. All three of us ordered different starters and desserts and were equally impressed. And the turkey, which we all ordered, did not disappoint either. Served alongside generous helpings of roasted and boiled vegetables, this classic British seasonal dish provided the perfect start to our Christmas holiday. Thoroughly recommend! 

I went back after many years  on recommendation and it was everything I was told. Good selection on the menu and an all day carvery with generous amount of meat that looked very nice. My friend had the gammon and she said it was excellent. I had fish and chips and the fish was very good. Prices standard for this area. Very friendly staff makes for a very pleasant visit. We will be back

Just been for a carvery with the family and WOW we are absolutely blown away. We have tried carvery’s all over the place, we are foodies that are quite hard to please! But this was absolutely incredible with everything and more. There are two different homemade meat pies as well as all the meat, different sauces and gravies, along with all the beautiful veg, you can even go up for more! Absolutely everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. 
Our waitress Mia was so welcoming, polite and professional, she’s an absolute gem! 
We will absolutely be back as often as we can. Please keep the food this good!!!!

We had a carvery today and I'm a huge snob when it comes to a roast! Of corse nothing beats a home cooked roast but to have food like this in our village is amazing! I had the pie on the carvery and it was beautiful! Cabbage, peas, cauli cheese, Stuffing,  home made Yorkshire! There was 3 versions of potatoes to choose and much more different veggies. It tasted fantastic, in fact probably the best carvery iv had in years! 😊

Came in Saturday 13 April 2019 for lunch whilst on a quick trip to see the village after a very long time away. I hesitated as not very busy, but so glad we went in. Really good fish and chips, with a lovely light batter, more than ample portions.  Had three different Puddings, all excellent, special praise for the Brownie!  Overall a good lunch, friendly and helpful landlady, we thought the prices were very reasonable and a nice atmosphere. A most pleasant experience.

Booked a table for 7 people for an evening meal, despite the pub being busy, the food arrived hot and within a reasonable time frame. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Good sized portions. Will definitely go again.
