Clyde House

A lovely 2 night stay to see family nearby, a very warm welcome from Sean and Heather, the most delicious breakfast with amazing choices. Very comfortable room and bed, every detail thought out to make a memorable stay. Many thanks Sean and Heather.

This accommodation was recommended to us by a local restaurant, and we booked it in the basis that so many 5 star reviews has to be a good thing. There is a reason for them and that is that the hosts; Sean and Heather truly have thought of everything you need for a welcoming and comfortable stay. They have many years of experience in hospitality between them and it shows in the detail and in the way they treat their guests. In fact, although fully booked themselves,  they were able to help sort accommodation elsewhere  for a couple who desperately turned up out of the blue having been let down by a booking at another establishment in Leyburn. Above and beyond to make the right impression on future guests because they care………
Our room was spotlessly clean and there was a good choice of tea/coffee/ herbal teas; along with delicious  homemade biscuits and fresh milk. In the small en-suite shower room there were toiletries, vanity kit, cotton wool, shower cap etc and a hairdryer and bath robe if you need them. 
There is a cosy lounge room for guests to use and a lovely garden patio area outside with what would be magnificent views over the countryside in better weather than we had this weekend! 
The breakfasts are amazing using good quality, locally sourced produce. A great choice from full English to smoked cod and poached egg, smoked salmon with scrambled egg, grilled kipper, There are homemade compotes and granola with yogurt, cereals, toast and jam/marmalade and orange juice as well as tea and coffee so it really sets you up for the day. All provided  with friendly and efficient service by Sean, and cooked to perfection by Heather, 
Clyde House is very well placed for trips out in North Yorkshire; with so many visitor attractions and walks nearby; so you certainly won’t be short of things to do and see during your stay. We would recommend a meal at the Sandpiper Inn just across the road. Parking is easy in the nearby market square and by donation.
I would highly recommend Clyde House and wouldn’t hesitate to book again if in the area. Thank you both for a lovely weekend.

Sean and Heather are the perfect hosts. We felt so welcome and it was a comfortable stay.  Clyde House is in the centre of the town and Sean was very knowledgeable about restaurants we could eat in within walking distance. 
The pièce de résistance was the magnificent breakfast. Probably one of the best we’ve ever had.  We are not surprised they have won so many awards for it.

Fabulous cottage in town with the friendliest hosts I’ve ever met , Sean and Heather made us feel so welcome , the breakfast was exceptional, homemade compotes of Rhubarb with Ginger, Apricots with Elderflower, peaches infused with Lavender , plus choice of home made granola followed by full English, Vegetarian choice, smoked Haddock , Kippers, eggs done every which way !! Toast and preserves

We were welcomed warmly at Clyde house by Sean and Heather and spent two nights there visiting friends in the area.
The rooms are lovely and cosy with plenty of Yorkshire tea for after lovely walks around Leyburn. The breakfasts were spectacular with homemade poached fruits, berries from the garden and locally sourced bacon eggs and black pudding!

We thoroughly recommend Clyde House. The location is great, in the centre of Leyburn close to shops, pubs and restaurants. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, with lovely views. Breakfast was perfect. The hosts couldn't have been more friendly, welcoming and flexible. 

Always a pleasure staying at Clyde House, spotlessly clean, lovely breakfasts with plenty of choice, Sean and Heather are the perfect hosts. 
Clyde House really convenient for Leyburn town/village centre, its only a minute or two away, where there is a good choice of eateries for evening meal, 4 pubs, an Indian and a Chinese sit down too. Plus a couple of convenience stores , a couple of local bakers close by.

The stay I had at Clyde House was perfect. They couldn't have been more welcoming and all the little touches made it feel very special. The room was really pretty and had lovely teas and coffees and home made biscuits. The hosts were very attentive and breakfast was amazing. There were fruits and home made granola and cereals and then a full cooked menu with all local produce. I couldn't stay for breakfast on my last morning due to travelling and they made me a breakfast bag which had a delicious sausage bap and some home made flapjack and some fruits and crisps. It kept me going all the way home on the train. Perfect location for the town as it is so close by. I would definitely recommend to anyone and I would stay again for sure. 

Heather and Sean have tuned their boutique offering to near perfection.  In front of house, Sean is attentive and welcoming.  Behind the scenes Heather displays her attention to detail from her home made compotes to liven up breakfast to pot plants around the building displaying her horti skills.
They do not serve lunch or dinner but Sean's cooked breakfasts are superb.  The rooms are clean and in keeping with a country B&B.   A little jewel located centrally in a lively little Dales town

I was in Leyburn for a friend's birhday party and was recommended to stay at Clyde House.  It turned out that four other guests of the same event decided to do so too!

This is an absolute gem of a place.  The buililding itself is very old and traditional with thick stone walls and oak beams everywhere.  The decor is homely and personal, you can tell this is someone's home, not just a business.

The hosts, Sean and Heather are absolutley lovely and so welcoming.  Within minutes of arriving I felt I had known them for ages.

There are only five rooms, so the whole expreience feels really personal.  My room, at the front of the property was lovely.  There was a beautiful, lovely, comfy bed, with quality bedding that I found hard to get out of.  The shower room was compact, but totally functional.  The shower has some real oomph to it too!

The beverage tray was full of teas and coffees from Taylors of Harrogate, fresh milk (in a flask) a bottle of mineral water as well as freshly baked homemade cookies in a jar. Oh, and a corkscrew too.

However the "piece de resistance" of Clyde House is Heather's stunning breakfast.  There are homemade fruit compotes and fresh fruit (grown in their own, or friends gardens) to go with Greek yoghurt, homemade museli and granola. Endless toast and homemade preserves. But. But. The cooked breakfats is to die for. Enough said.

I'd happily stay here agian and again.

This beautiful (should be 5-star) guest house, run by the lovely and welcoming Sean and Heather, was just what we needed. Experienced in what they do, they thought of everything and the breakfast was delicious! Would highly recommend, especially if you are travelling solo, need easy access to parking, shops and walks, or just want a quiet break with great food and advice on where to go. 

Best kept secret of the Yorkshire Dales...

Many thanks to Sean and Heather for hosting us over the Masham Sheep Fair weekend. Once again, we were all agreed that we certainly hit the jackpot in finding Clyde House. Rooms were spotless, breakfast really sets you up for the day and to be able to wander round the garden was an absolute delight (thanks, Heather, for naming some of your lovely plants - got them ordered for spring planting!) We will certainly be back!
