Just back! What a wonderful place to stay.  We camped next to the lake.  It’s a lovely, friendly place with a small amount of pitches.  Every child there was thoroughly enjoying the safe freedom given here, no one misbehaved child or dog! Wonderful and friendly.  The view took my breath away.  Lovely guy who runs the cafe, superb location, kids area with sandpit, toilet and shower facilities were excellent.  If you’re right down the further left away camping pitch (as we were) you may want to take a portable toilet with you for overnight, it is a bit of a hike in the middle of the night. Overall fantastic, weekend, highly recommended

Excellent campsite with not too many pitches so it seemed quiet. Great countryside setting. Lake for swimming. Good running in the surrounding fields. Pub adjacent and loads of others nearby. Will definitely be back. 

We visited here for a family wedding this weekend and what a beautiful venue this is. Absolutely lovely day and luckily we had beautiful weather too! Family memories to last a lifetime. Thank you for making it so special 

We were staying when Britain had come to a standstill due to the snow. But even with this they went out of their way to make it work for us, had great communication to keep us informed and made us feel very welcome. Thank you. A lovely place with fantastic views, warm, comfy and everything you need.

The lodge has everything you would need for a short stay in a great location.

Lovely room with kitchen, tv, sofa, table and chair to eat at.   Beautiful views over the lake and amazing place to watch the sun set.

Well equipped lodge, very clean and comfortable. Lovely setting, nice and relaxing.

We stayed at the Annexe for a wedding at Gosfield Hall. Loved our stay, perfect position and facilities with lovely views .
Looking forward to going back for a longer stay, lovely village and location

What an amazing find! We were visiting the area for a friends birthday and didn’t fancy a soulless travelodge so booked the annexe. Great facilities, wonderful views and lovely hosts. The annexe is very peaceful and well equipped.  We would love to visit again for a couple of nights, highly recommended

Stunning, relaxing, chilled weekend

Amazing find

Fabulous place to stay any time. Great views of the lake. Lot of amenities on site for family fun. A caravan and camping park with 2 annex chalets.
We stayed in one of the annex rooms. Very clean, comfortable bed. Great shower and spa bath with fluffy towels supplied. Microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle for your convenience. Food is available on site along with a bar and entertainment. Would recommend

Fabulous stay

I used to carry out maintenance works for the local council on the varying structures in and around the essex area.
One of those areas was Gosfield and we would often park on the road and have our breaks overlooking the lake, following my work day and the lake became one of those places i would mention but never actually visit.
Yesterday the weather was nice and due to work commitments we decided on visiting somewhere local so finally we headed to Gosfield lake.

£10 entry for a car of 4 people seemed reasonable, we arrived at 2pm ish, spoke to a young female at the resort office of whom was informative, friendly  and polite.
We parked at the top of a grass slope that lead down to the lake, water skiing was taking place so we headed to a picnic table close to the water edge whilst the kids headed for the play area.

The play area was small yet accommodated those using it easily with swings, slide and sand area, being private there was no litter and following a visit to Southend prior to lock down, it was relaxing knowing the kids weren’t picking up or playing with something they had found having been discarded by some scum bag and on a plus side they quickly made friends with some of the kids i imagine were camping at the resort.

There are toilets with in the resort that had an odd odour to them and a snack shack that sells drinks, basket meals and burgers etc that were in my opinion also reasonably priced.
We spent 5 hours here playing with the kids, watching them play and eating and including entry spent £35.
The water skiing looked interesting however the inflated floats pulled by the boats looked more appealing, so next time we go we will take our swimmers and give it a go.

For a Saturday afternoon and excluding the campers there were maybe 7 cars parked with up to 4 people in each, we had lots of room, it was quiet and we had no interference.

I cant wait to go back and cant believe I’ve left it this long to visit.

Goshfield

We had the cosy annexe for a very relaxing week with great views over the lake.  Carl looked after us well and was invaluable for local knowledge.  Lots of things to do and see locally and nearer to home the water-skiing and brave open water swimmers.  A good restaurant on site for breakfast and evening meals. They do a mean Sunday roast deal, delicious.  Even though the weather was very wet we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return

Peace and quiet

Just came home from 2 night camping, we opted for the no electric pitch as wanted to be right near the lake. 
Had a really lovely time, wasn’t very busy so felt very safe ( during these worrying time) 
Everything you could ask for.... 
EVERYTHING was so clean and all the staff were lovely. 
Food from the onsite cafe was lovely, very reasonable and staff very friendly. 
Toilets and shower room very clean. 
Would high recommend to anyone looking for a couple of nights away and will definitely be returning.

Camping at Gosfield Lake

We camped here for a long weekend in July. We chose electric pitches (I need my hairdryer and phone charged, sound like a right proper camper don't I? 🤣🤣) but there are standard pitches available. Good on site facilities, small shop, nice pub (The King's Head) that does delicious meals near by as well.

Great place for camping

Booked an electric camping pitch last minute for the August bank hol weekend. Two families went with 4 adults and 4 children aged 6 and under.  Friendly staff upon arrival who gave us a map of where things were,able to choose our pitch as it was first come first served. We pitched our tent in the electric hook up section behind the church,nice and clean and fair sized pitch a 30 second walk from the facilities.

The whole site is well maintained,clean and tidy.  Toilets and showers were clean and wash up area also. Few points to get water and also has washing machine,tumble dryer (small fee) and complimentary small freezer to re-freeze ice blocks.

Area down by the lake was lovely,well kept,nice relaxed atmosphere and has a little cafe next to the water for light bites,drinks and ice creams (didn't use it but looked good). Also has some swings and small play area with sand for the kids which kept ours entertained for hours. Lots of water skiing and paddle boarding on the lake to watch also which was good.

There is a restaurant on site and pub 0.5 mile walk up the road but we left it to late to book into either unfortunately.  Also there is a children's park and big playing field a 5 minute walk up the road.

Overall a family friendly campsite which i'd reccommend and visit again.

August bank holiday camping trip

Stayed overnight whilst attending a relative’s Wedding. It’s seemingly set up for just that really, wouldn’t intend staying for much else as it’s all about a rapid turnover of guests and Ceremonies. The room we stayed in was like a stylish aircraft hangar, massive, comfy. The staff were all exceedingly helpful.
The food was fine esp. the veggie options which were really outstanding. It’s a great setting for a Wedding.

Wedding Trip

Stayed in the annexe, our annual trip to Gosfield lake was a complete success. Great facilities, Vince and Ben on great form coaching and driving, members very welcoming. We love the lake and staying in the annexe which is just perfect with high level of comfort, clean, high spec and with a great view of the ski lake 100 yd’s away. 
A perfect trip again, sorry we couldn’t stay longer, thanks guys! See you next year!
