Shibden Mill Inn

An absolute gem of a place. We stayed for 2 nights Room 9 it was a beautiful room light and airy with a massive bed and a breath and shower. Little touches like cookies I. The room, an espresso machine and the radio on just added to the charm. We were booked in to eat both nights and I am so glad we did. First night we chose the taster menu it was amazing (especially the beef tartare) 7 courses of sublime food, just the right size and spaced just right so you could enjoy every morsel. The 2nd night we chose off the main menu again the food was amazing, I had to have the beef tartare for starters (it would have been rude not to). The inn itself is fabulous lots of dark little corners to secret yourself away, set in a valley by a stream (which you can fall asleep to the sound at night - bliss) the staff could not be more helpful attentive and friendly, they made our stay pleasurable and were absolute diamonds! This is a great place for walkers (I am not a walker and loved it anyway) we had a fabulous stay and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to switch off for a while. Oh and finally the breakfast was, of course amazing all locally sourced ingredients. It deserves 6 stars
