Waterloo Cross, Devon by Marston's Inns

We visited on a Saturday evening with our friend for a few drinks and watch the rugby whilst staying at a local hotel. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and they have a good choice of drinks on tap and also bottled. The next morning we returned for breakfast. The housekeeper was front of house when we arrived, she greeted us in a very friendly manner and showed us to a table, I mentioned that I was coeliac and she said that she would get Sue to help me due to her being more knowledgeable. I always worry when dining in new restaurants due to being coeliac but Sue was amazing and really put my mind at ease when she said that the kitchen have a 2 stage cleaning process when dealing with allergies. We all had the classic breakfast which was lovely, hot & plentiful. Sue was so attentive, even making sure my breakfast came out first and separately so as to avoid cross contamination. The restaurant, bar and toilets were nice and clean, although the toilets could definitely do with a lick of paint. I highly recommend visiting here either for a a few drinks (they have a dartboard too!) or for food and if you get to meet Sue, then you’re in for a treat as she’s lovely and such an asset to the company!
