Excellent Sunday carvery - lovely choice of meats and plenty of veg and sides to choose from as well. £3.50 for a pint of coke was a bit steep imo, however will definitely go back again for the food - soon!

Food was excellent, room was good, what let it down for me was the old trailer and uncared for and overgrown outside space.
Breakfast was enormous. Good choice of cereals and full welsh/veggie breakfast on offer.
Staff very helpful.

Overnight stay

Stayed for a few nights. Has good points but could improve other points. 
The room was lovely and warm and the radiator could be turned up or down. The bed was comfortable. Towels were nice and large. 
The window had curtains but no privacy blind and during the day while the curtains were open people walk right past your room and can see in. 
We went out for the day after our first night to return to find our room had not been cleaned and tea/coffee and milk not replenished. Plus no toilet roll. We then realised we had to request for the room to be serviced which we have never come across before. 
There was no information in the room as to time of breakfast or what to do in case of a fire. 
The food in the restaurant on the first night was really good but the second nights meal was not very nice. Possibly a different chef! 
All the staff were very polite and friendly and were very welcoming to our small dog who was able to sit with us in the bar for meals. 
Overall we enjoyed our stay and understand that the owners are fairly new and updating the hotel so we hope our feed back helps them in improving even further. 

Comfortable

After booking this lodge on booking.com where it is rated a 4 star I was very disappointed with what we experienced. The rooms and restaurant do not meet expectations set out whilst booking. Rooms were basic and had a bad smell. We had slow service in the restaurant and they were clearly under staffed. Food was nice but basic. They stopped serving food at 6pm on the evening we arrived, with no notice online and no phone call to warn us - leaving us having to find elsewhere to eat late at night and driving to the nearest town. After a long journey, this was extremely frustrating. 
Fine for a quick and basic stay but I would not recommend staying long. 

Disappointing 

Absolute shambles. We had to wait for menus as they only had 3 copies. No wine list at all. We were then told that the burgers, pizzas, tacos and fish & chips had been taken off the menu, leaving a much reduced choice. We ordered, then we were  informed 2 more items were off. When the food arrived the chips were stone cold, onion rings were raw inside, and a gammon dish inedible. 
A very disappointing experience, the 2 staff on were doing their very best in difficult circumstances, had they not been so nice, we would have walked out. Not good enough and i doubt we’ll be be back anytime soon,
