1019 reviewsI stayed in Silom Serene in January 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed my short stay at this beautiful gem of a hotel. This hotel was very much a life saver. I had not in fact booked in advance as I usually do. I had made a booking at an apartment close by and was so shocked at the poor state of that apartment that I walked out in frustration. I stood on the street and saw Silom Serene Hotel opposite and promptly walked in asking if there were any rooms available. The staff welcomed me and look for options despite being a walk in guest. I can’t describe the delight and joy seeing my beautiful room. It was simply perfect. The room had a feeling of real luxury and comfort. The big appeal for me is the whole area of Sathorn and Silom. It’s a fantastic alternative option to the usual Sukhumvit area which although I like, it can become too much often with the traffic, busy night life and hectic atmosphere. This area certainly has night life and for sure the Bangkok traffic, but it feels less hectic. The hotel is so close to the Chong Nonsi BTS sky train allowing you to immediately access the transport system and zip around town. In addition, you are a short walk from St. Louis BTS sky train station. In addition, you are south of the amazing Lumphini Park which is a truly wonderful location to escape the city and enjoy some peace and quiet in a green space. If you are craving some excitement, you are a short walk from the famous Pat Pong night market and the bars and clubs should you feel the need for a drink and a little nocturnal entertainment. You are surrounded by some fantastic architecture and urban views which really show the development of Bangkok. All of which is welcome if you are looking to experience all Thailand has to offer. So, a week here can contrast with the beaches of the south or the mountains of the north. The iconic King Power Mahanakhon skyscraper is a must see with its heart stopping glass viewing deck. In addition, the hotel allows you to easily access the old quarter of Bangkok and the must-see area of China Town and of course the incredible Chao Phraya River and the stunning river views and cruises. So, for me the location of the hotel is wonderful. Right outside Silom Serene you have the option of some truly awesome outdoor street food restaurants offering a great selection of Thai food. There you will mix with both locals and tourists and feel totally connected. I would recommend a walk around the immediate streets to locate the fantastic bars restaurants that must be experienced and all right on the doorstep of the hotel. I strongly recommend you take a walk down a tiny little alley way just opposite the hotel. This is one of those lovely Bangkok moments where you are taken on an adventure of discovery. Tiny little market stalls, food shops and cafes all tucked away down tight footpaths. It twists and turns and much of it undercover. It’s the perfect way to start an exciting day in Bangkok. There is a small restaurant on the ground floor and although I did not use it, it’s clearly provided a good range of food. As mentioned, the street has numerous great little cafes and street food eateries with incredibly tasty food at an affordable price. So, you are never far from some sustenance. Important to note my room had a whole kitchen and so bringing food in and cooking there is always an option. The coffee mugs in my room were a little too small for my liking. I like to drink large mugs of hot tea and the staff at the restaurant were happy to lend me a huge mug for the few days that I stayed in the hotel. A lifesaver. The room is spacious and really luxurious. It was heaven to return to this beautiful room and throw myself on the huge bed or relax in the bath. The rooms are simply wonderful. I also took time to relax by the pool. The pool Is not huge but certainly enough for a post city soak and escape the heat. Note the sun will only be on the pool for a short time if you are considering sunbathing. I really believe this is one of the best hotel options in this area of Bangkok. The quality of the rooms, the incredible service, affordable rates and amazing location all come together to make this a truly superb option. I will return.
