After tiring search for a clean and comfortable place with a good price and close to Dar es Salaam downtown, this hotel was great option I thank God for it, strongly advised.

Strongly advised

A simple but clean hotel in the centre of Daresalam. Especially well located if you want to travel further by ferry. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All wishes have always been met with great effort. Breakfast is included. Simple but fresh and sufficient. We would come back anytime!

We stayed 2 nights in the Heritage Motel in October 2018.
The hotel is located 2 minutes by foot from the Ferry harbour. 
Nice large rooms with A/C, television, safe, fridge and a large bathroom with a good shower. Comfortable beds.
Hotel personnel was very friendly and helpful. We asked where we could find a money exchange, and they offered to send someone from the hotel to make sure we got the correct exchange rate.
Breakfast is served in the cafetaria and was of good quality.
No restaurant in the hotel, but there are two excellent restaurants at 1 minute walking from the hotel.

Great place to stay in Dar Es Salaam

The rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable with all you need in it (cable TV, Safe box, coffee/tea, hairdryer, air-conditioning, phone, etc). The big plus is the staff, wonderful with all customers. The hotel is perfectly located, close to the ferry and many restaurants and bars. 

Although, the breakfast was very poor and we did not have warm showers.

Lovely staff and very comfortable rooms

We stayed here for one night on our return trip from Tanzania in June 2018. We considered a hotel near the airport, but with a 30-hour layover, we wanted to stay closer to town and see some of the sights. The Heritage Motel was a good choice. It was modern, clean and comfortable, located in the heart of the city near the ferries. It was an excellent value, even adding in the taxi fares to and from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast wasn't lavish, but don't let the looks of the dining area area fool you. The food was as good or better than a lot of the budget hotels we've stayed at in our journeys. A big plus during our stay was Felix Mwombeki, our taxi driver, who the hotel arranged to meet us at the airport.  Felix was a great guide and took us on a tour of downtown and the Oyster Bay area on our way to the Tinga Tinga artist community. If you stay here and need transportation, ask the Heritage to arrange for Felix.

Great place to stay overnight in Dar es Salaam

This is a great value, centrally located hotel which is an easy 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The front of house staff were very friendly and efficient if we had a question or problem and they happily stowed our excess luggage while we visited Zanzibar. 
Breakfast was included but it was not very satisfactory (poor variety and not ready at the advertised start time) and I think the hotel should improve on their breakfast offering. 

Great location and friendly staff

The hotel is very centrally located. The rooms are nicely furnished and clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel itself I would rate very well if it wasn't for breakfast. Very impersonal room, has the character of a waiting room. There was soluble coffee and the jam had to be glued to the edge of the plate. It took a very long time before the breakfast was cooked. With little effort the level could be improved here. We ate at the hotel restaurant on the first night. That didn't work out. We waited for two hours for our meal, although we were the only guests in the restaurant. Meanwhile, plates were brought back to the hotel room full of food. Where we were finally convinced that we had all eaten after dinner. So if my restaurant hadn't been a good restaurant, I would have eaten half a meal of fish and then hadn't eaten well.

Nice hotel in the center of town.

The hotel is very well situated for taking the ferry (5 minutes walk) or visiting the centre of Dar.

Well placed.

The hotel is located in the center of Dar es Salaam. Good value for money. Nice staff. We arrived late in the afternoon and then we went to dinner at the Lebanese restaurant behind the hotel and we found ourselves well.

New hotel downtown

We stayed at the Heritage Motel for 2 nights and it was nice. The rooms are clean and spacious and are cleaned every day. There is a water boiler and coffee and tea in the room. There is also free water in the minibar. The air conditioning is quiet and cool down well. The staff is very friendly. The only downside is breakfast at the Lebanese restaurant right around the corner. Unfriendly and unattractive staff, immature fruits and scarcely any choice. The price of staying at the motel is ok; it's really good because it's very centrally located. You can reach everything in the city.
