I would agree that this place is on the skanky side, it wasnt all that clean and the kitchen had some basic things missing.  However it did have the basics so we could have breakfast and a simple dinner.  
It is not easy to find a cheap place in Zurich, especially for a family of four looking for a kitchenette.  I would challenge someone to get a better price than 180 CHF for a two bedroom and a kitchen in the city center.
I would be careful in talking money with them though.  I tried using my half price hotel card and they wanted to charge 380 CHF/night for the room.  It was only when I was about to cancel that they decided to honor the price stated.  Be wary. 
The next time I would try the youth hostel as in my past experience those are cleaner.

this place is a shocker! when we arrived they gave us the keys to an apartment, we opened the door and it was like stepping into an ashtray!! the toilet was in pieces and if you are in need of a powerpoint to use, forget it! there are none!!!! so back to reception and they gave us another apartment, this one had a working toilet! it also had one power outlet to use! but as in the last one everything, the rooms, the bed linen, pillows all smell of smoke, the reason probably is the cigarette burns in everything!!!(see pics) the pictures on the internet we figure were taken in about 1975 there really isn't anything good to say about this place, the location is ok but thats about it, I wouldnt recommend this place to anybody! Really i dont know what they are thinking renting a place like this out, for them it should be embarrassing

We had booked this hotel for 2 nights in June, 2010.  The photos are mis-leading as the apartment was seedy, dirty, and had several major flaws.  There were limited electric outlets, the kitchen was so gross we did not even want to use it -- dishes in the dishwasher were still dirty, even when we ran it ourselves again.

Worst of all, there was a very loud party below us and after 3 trips downstairs to request quiet, they finally got the message when I said I would call the police.  There was no one on duty at the desk to report the noise to at midnight.  I did complain in the morning and demanded a refund but was given a token amount.

It was the low point of our trip to stay here.

Do Not Stay Here!

Wonder which appartment is photographed on their homepage? Certainly not the one we had. Building probably from the 70:s, not much has changed since. Bathroom and kitchen original, with only a few, probably neccessary, replacements made. Not very clean. Tabeware randomly put together (eg. lots of soup plates, only 2 glasses). Staircase dark an dismal. Laundry room horrible with washing machines that needed replacement long ago. Highly overpriced! Standard suitable for backpackers looking for simple accommodation, but the price is in a whole different category!

The key box didn't work, they double booked us and changed their excuses repeatedly, sent us to an unsuitable alternative hotel saying they would pay then threatened us with the police when we moved on - not to be trusted.  Tourist office in Zurich confirmed many complaints have been made against them - don't let them spoil your holiday too.
