Amazing atmosphere, comfortable rooms with great view  and so friendly staff.  Very good Sri Lankan breakfast.  The beach is idyllic and thanks to shallow water good for families with kids. Good place for snorkeling just few steps to your left from terras. We really enjoyed our stay!

I stayed here for three nights and I absolutely loved the place. The highlight of this place would be the veranda overlooking the beach. Service was excellent and this place is value for money. Janaka is very friendly and helpful bloke. I would definitely visit again.

The location is just perfect to visit Galle with its fort, the Japanese Peace pagoda and some of the best beaches in the island. Janaka is always ready to give advice or help you arrange transportation! The beach is protected by a reef and not very busy, feels like a private beach sometimes but there's a few restaurants nearby and you will be able to spot some locals fishing, and the 3 resident sea turtles! Cute garden and veranda with comfy sunbeds, you are also welcome to buy your own drinks outside (fridges in every room) and enjoy them by the sea! 
Chilled vibe, perfect for families or small group of friends, huge room and bed, powerful AC and friendly staff. Also try their local vegetarian cuisine, honestly some of the best food I have tried in Sri Lanka!

Janaka Beach House is a wonderful guesthouse with spectacular water views.  We were fortunate to have good weather and found the beach great to swim in when the tide was out.  Janaka's mother was our host and she was delightful along with the other staff.  Very clean rooms and enjoyed a lovely breakfast overlooking the ocean each morning.

The place is very nice right at the beach. You will fall asleep with the sound of the ocean. The young owner is a very friendly and flexible man who helped us to enjoy our stay even more. He gave us (travelling with 2 young children) very good advice and we are gratefull for that.

We stayed in the beach cabin at Janaka Beach House and it was wonderful. It has it's own private decked veranda overlooking the beach with two loungers on which to relax. The staff were very friendly and helpful (e.g. organising any transport we needed).

The beach itself is superb - in it's own cove (as opposed to a long straight stretch), very picturesque with plenty of shade. There are a number of hotels and restaurants on the beach front but not too many, so it's not over-crowded but does give you a number of choices about where to eat or have a drink. Thoroughly recommend this.

Our stay at janaka beach house was lovely! 
During our time there Janaka was extremely helpful and friendly, arranging taxis for us amongst other things. 
We stayed in the wooden hut right by the beach and the porch is absolutely amazing. We really enjoyed a lot of our time there, very relaxing and nice to enjoy food and drinks there. 
In terms of food, this is the one area we found a bit tricky. They only offer a fairly basic breakfast and the restaurants nearby are all quite expensive! 
It rained quite hard on our first night there and we discovered a small leak in the roof which we mentioned to Janaka. 
We would gladly return there to stay again one day!

Janaka House is located absolutely in the best spot of Sri Lanka. Usually the waves are very strong around the island. However, the location of Janaka House is right on the spot of naturally formed lagoon by reefs and being a habitant to 2-3 sea turtles whom are very social :) Janaka himself is very helpful for almost everything very laid back approach. :)It is an amazing budget stay option, if you are not into luxury.
