I really appreciated staying at Romana Rest! Rohan was the most friendly host ever, giving me tons of insider tips of other great spots to explore around, temples, hils, rivers....
Great location to walk to the temple from. Close to the temple  elephant s too.
I am sure Rohan is a great safari guide,  smiley, intelligent, a good Enhlish and very connected to Nature and spiritual places close by.
I am French by the way...

Stayed at Romana Rest in December 2022. We had the whole premises to ourselves as it was a Sunday, and the rooms and bathrooms were clean. We booked an A/C family room, which was offered to us at an extremely reasonable rate.

Mr. Rohan is an exceptional host and helped us donate dinner packets to deserving people at the Kataragama Maha Devale. Mr. Jayatissa assisted with supplying the food, and his home cooked meals are excellent and clean.

Would recommend Romana Rest for any pilgrims and would definitely be staying there in the future. Wish Mr. Rohan all the best and may all your good endeavors succeed!

We stay 2 days . Its close to katharagama temple . 15 mini walk . Roshan is very friendly .clean room . Good customer service . Clean bed . Also he arrange our breakfast . Value of the money . They give us good discount . If you want to visit katharagama temple .best place to stay 

The place was very near to the Kataragama devalaya ,Tasty food and very helpful staff .
Rooms were just fabulous. And the staff was extremely cordial, helpful and courteous. Could have had a better experiencs. Great Location, Easy to access Katharagama Devalaya and Kiri Vehera.”

Clean, comfortable great value place to stay. 
Romana was very helpful with organising the safari to Yala, as well as to Ella.
The place is walking distance to the temples.
Rooms with AC are also available. 

After a good day of cycling during my cycle-tour around Sri Lanka, I arrived at Romana Rest tired and was delighted to find out that Rohan had an affordable, clean and bright room available.
He and his staff were very friendly and helpful and told me about other places to see around the area apart from the nearby National Parks. 
So I spent an unplanned 2nd night at Romana Rest, exploring the area and beautiful, lively temples, which I am very grateful for.

The room and bathroom were very clean. Small open balcony. Home cooked local food was tasty. The staff was very attentive. He arranged the Yala safari tour at low rate on 2nd day. Right place for budget travelers.

Excellent serivice provided by owner and loving mother from the arrival to depature.we stayed 4 nights,everthing was clean and tidy.Affordable prices,Further he arranged affordable transport to visit all the important places at kataragama.can be recommend all who visits katragama,Romana is the ideal accommdation.we were informed by the owner,that KATARAGAMA FESTIVAL starts from July 13th to 23rd.During that time can watch Randoli Perehera,lots of Elephants & cultural dancing items.
