The St. Regis Doha

A memorable stay at the St Regis Doha, from the moment the doors of our car were opened we entered an incredible welcoming environment. Our very spacious room was truly fantastic with panoramic sea view. Location of the hotel is good, most points of interest (Malls, Souq, Crystal Walk etc) are within an 10-20 minute taxi ride, Downtown is slightly further but not far. Facilities at the hotel are really very good; well equipped gym, huge pool, spa facilities and a very good selection of restaurants for every palette. Brunch at the vine is fabulous really enjoyed the selection of food, the live singing, sax and dj top off a great event. Sabrage at the Astor Grill was fun, food was delicious. Opa offers a really fun Greek extravaganza with plate smashing, dancing and balancing drinks on head all good fun. Staff at the hotel really did make our stay more enjoyable, they are attentive and no request is too much. Special thanks to; in Vine- Rahma, Maged, Prakash, Tomi, Bastikon, Ellie, Maxi, Jackeline, Anu, Aizat, JC, Basit. The Barn; Jaosean and all the chefs the breakfasts are delicious. The pool; Brian, Damith, Levison, Rencie, and Kendi. Guerlain spa; Dizhar. All the doormen/ porters/ door attendants they all work so hard are truly a credit to the hotel and helped me tremendously with taxis no disrespect if I haven’t mentioned a name as they’re all exceptional, Gabriel Eddie thank you. Rence in reception thank you for changing cash, getting scissors and everything in between. A note to the hotel, I felt a shift towards the end of our stay all staff were falling over themselves to give us their names. I’m always used to paying for and acknowledging good service. I already see those that work hard, go out of their way to be helpful or just enjoy providing excellent service. It would be a better experience if staff are not pressured to provide names so that they are mentioned in reviews. Good reviews happen organically. The one person who perhaps needs customer service training is Safa (in Vine) she went out of her way to make my mornings unpleasant on occasion removing drinking glasses from the table. Everything else was exemplary, if I do return to Doha I would probably stay here again.
