Nice place surrounded by trees out of old town. Staffs are friendly, acclimated with an free style feeling. Close to old town, can catch a cheap taxi to New town. Very good price if you didn't expect a fancy and delicate hotel.

I love this hostel - it's an oasis in the city, surrounded by greenery and just outside the "busy" parts. It's a cheap cab ride into Casco Viejo, but while at the hostel, I felt almost as though I wasn't even in the city. The rooftop terrace has stunning views of the city and coastline, and the staff are great! I suffered heat stroke while here, and Rafa was quick to bring me cold water, get the AC going, and checked in on me several times to be sure I was recovering well. Great prices and a wonderful spot to get away from the city while staying in the city!

I liked the hostel because it is in a relatively quiet area of town and not too far from the old city (Casco Viejo is about 1 km). Moreover the hostel is surrounded by green trees and bush giving it a garden like ambiance. Guests can sit outside on a terrace near the lobby or on the roof top. The bunk beds in the dorms are OK and other facilities work.

Staff is friendly, though sometimes loud when watching television or listening to disco music. Information for travelers is limited. However, they always try to help when it is within their capabilities.

The hostel is rather hot during the day (a/c only from 9PM to 7AM). Not a problem if you are out and about in the city, but if you aren't...

For one reason or another, things disappear out of the kitchen. It may also explain why so many things are kept in locked cupboards. The kitchen is closed from 1PM to 5:30PM and again after 8PM. Even for boiling water to make tea, coffee or noodles. A kettle in the kitchen would be useful.

Stayed 8 days!

We booked for three nights and left after one. Looked like a beautiful oasis but was pretty disappointing. The common area/s aren't great, only a small balcony outside and two small rooms inside, one of which was taken over by staff all afternoon/night blaring movies, and the best place - on the roof - had someone sleeping on a mattress so felt weird being up there. Within a couple of hours of putting clearly marked butter and grapes in the fridge it had gone missing already! Rooms are super hot with no fans and a/c only from 9pm to 7am and no covers on windows. Great if you want an early start but if not you will wake at 7 a hot sweaty mess. If the heat doesn't wake you we were disturbed by loud heavy dance music from 7am (an after-party apparently!) they advertise a 4pm walking tour that doesn't happen, the kitchen is only open from 10-1pm and 5- 8pm so if your snacks are stolen and you want to cook something, too bad. Breakfast is advertised at 8am but at 8.30 we were still milling around waiting for it to be ready...finally ate at 9am! annoying as we were wanting to walk up Ancon Hill as soon as we ate (not to mention the floor is literally vibrating under my feet due to the basement party going on) There was only one bathroom we could find and it was dirty, wet and smelly (the toilet paper bin was open and overflowing so the whole place smelt like urine!). Don't think I've stayed at a worse hostel and especially for the price I couldn't recommend this place at all.

Not impressed

Pretty crappy. The staff don't really care. They ate all the pizza we had clearly marked from the fridge. Kimmie, the guy working the reception during my stay,  cannot handle simple tasks of laundry despite telling me my clothes would be ready by the evening but 8 hours later were in the same place as when I left them at 09:00. When I asked why it wasn't done, he replied what my problem was and made zero attempt to work it out. 

Would not recommend to stay. Go to Luna Castle.
