We just happened to get to this league and we were just excited. We felt very comfortable. We traveled with baby and dog and that was no problem. It was just great. We were there for three nights and we would have liked to have stayed longer. Thank you for this great stay.

To Feel Well

Good location (50 minutes from Bergen and 1,5 hours from Odda/Trolltunga), very neat and clean bedroom; felt like sleeping on a cloud, clean big kitchen with lots of utilities (refrigerator, freezer, oven, 2x dishwashers, toasters and more). The area also has lots of good hiking possibilities, grocery shop 8 minutes and 15 minutes drive away.

Very kind and welcoming owner and personnel! Good PRICE for the money, strongly recommended.

Cheap, clean and like sleeping on a cloud!

One of the affordable lodge around Bergen. 

We were looking for a hotel and this was recommended by booking.com. 32 kms from Bergen based on booking.com but when we used google map, the location is 58kms. Almost double. I do not know whose fault is this but definitely mislead us. If we knew that it is this far, we will find another hotel. 

It is clean and new. Very isolated which is good for those looking for serenity. 

If I have something bad to say, self service hotel is not my thing. I find it so inconvenient. Especially for travelers like us who stay for a night and in rush. We do not want to call the owner when we find something not right. Like entering the hotel was a difficulty too, when the PIN provided didnt work right away. We stayed outside the hotel for more than 15mins because we couldnt find the entrance as it is not really easily noticeable.

Also, We booked for 2 adults and only one set of towels in the bathroom. 


58kms from Bergen city center

I booked two rooms for my two families who didn't know each other previously, one is Junior Suite and the other is Apartment with Mountain View. However, when my guests checked in on that day, the receptionist said they could only provide one room because the hotel was overbooked. Those two families, 7 people totally, had to live in one house together because it was a little bit late. The environment and facility was bad, the bathroom on 1st floor is outside the house, and the door of bathroom on 2nd floor is damaged. Kitchen facilities are not complete, often power off when cooking.What disappointed me most is that they refused to admit their mistake after I asked for the refund of the room which they didn't provide!!

Extremely bad accommodation experience

The lodge is not a Hotel. More a hostel for adults. No breakfast, no shower and toilet en suite. But the rooms are beautiful and have a sink. Very comfortable bed, flat screen tv and free apple tv. Enjoyed the stay, but personally i prefer more privacy. 

Nice, silent and toilet and shower outside the room

It's a hotel in the middle of nowhere with some very cool rooms (prefabricated) The shower didn't have any pressure Tenía en canto but the staff didn't attend for the entrance or exit, we had to chase them to pay for them and on top of that they charged us for the cleaning and when we arrived the papers were empty.

Nice rooms but not with the staff.

I spent the night at Kvamseter Lodge yesterday and I just had to write how nice it was there! Robert was so nice and wonderful! The place itself is magical and the fact that I could bring my dog just makes it even better. 😊 I would recommend anyone to visit!! Thank you again Robert for your hospitality. 

What a nice place to stay at

You can stay here short term or long term. They have family rooms, suites and apartments. All rooms have small coffemaker and a small fridge. It is a bit hard to find if you don't use GPS, but once we had booked, we got an email with directions.
It is a good place to stop on your way to Bergen or Hardanger.

We stayed in a lovely junior suite, with a very nice bedroom with a soft and nice bed, a good sized bedroom with shower, and a small kitchen/living room. The sofa could be made into a bed as well. They have parkingspace.
It is situated right in the terrein for skiing and hiking, and is very peaceful and nice.
The prices are affaordable and everything is clean.

Nice place to stay both during winter and summer

Positives:
My husband and I stayed there 2 nights. (Jun 16th to Jun 18th). 

We stayed in a King Studio with Sofa Bed in the 2nd floor.  It is small but cozy and really tasteful decor. You feel at home in the studio.

We were very welcomed by Robert,  The Lodge's owner. He is very kind and helpful.

The place is perfect to visit the Hardanger Fjord. 

It is quiet and silent.

Negatives:

It was very difficult to find the Kvamseter Lodge. The Lodge construction is in detail finishing phase and there is no name in the building. The GPS did not find neither the address nor the name. It is located in a small old road. I suggest Robert to design a schematic map and send by email to guests.

I think that is the main reason for the good cost-benefit.

We have some suggestions to complete the details:

- it is missing a toilet paper holder
- it is missing a full length mirror
- it is missing a shelf for shampoo and shower gel in the box
- it is missing a bathroom toweling mat
-  it is important to improve water pressure in shower - very weak
- it is missing a stronger, direct light for reading

There are a lot of stairs in the building. This was a problem to carry our big and heavy suitcases upstairs. Luckyly the Robert's partner,  which was in the Lodge in the day when we did the chek-out, helped my husband carrying down our heavy suitcases.
There is a good kitchen in the Studio but there is no dishwasher, nor microwave. 

Fortunately in the basement there is a big and very well equipped kitchen with 2 dishwashers, microwave, sandwich maker. But it was a problem to go down and up several times with the tableware and pans. As we did not know how long is the dishwasher cicle, we had to go down and up a few times to see if it has finished. 

The bed is not king size as I expected in a King Studio. It is a queen size bed and the mattress is too soft. My husband slept in the sofa bed one night and we switched places in the next night.
