The Dover Hotel Lekki

24 hour WiFi, rooms perfectly chilled, I loved the breakfast buffet, super comfy mattresses, reliable & safe taxi service to the airport, staff ever so friendly and helpful, brilliant location with lots of boutiques, restaurants and supermarkets at walking distance. The only thing I could fault was the half filled swimming pool which was poorly lit at night and did not look inviting and poor TV reception, apart from that, the hotel was very good value for money

Stayed here for three weeks, all good. Service excellent, staff cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable, security first class, with lots of amenities within walking distance.
Hotel manager John very visible, working hard to ensure your expectations are met. Tricky to pick out the most helpful staff as all are good, but special mention to Dawkins on reception, and Antonia the waitress who looked after my group so well. Lovett also, in the restaurant.
Thoroughly recommended. I will definitely stay here again when in Lekki.

Very friendly staff, Would definitely stay here again

I stayed in Dover sometime long ago. Their buffet was impressive, the rooms were clean and they provided daily cleaning but..the air conditioning to my room had no remote control so I had to keep getting out of bed to turn it off/on.Oh, and the elevator on my floor was broken, got off on the floor below.

I loved the big windows in the bathroom, afforded me a street view while I crapped. Hehehe. And their proximity to Ebeano supermarket is a huge bonus.

A Nice Stay

As with many other aspects of Lagos, the Dover's people deserve high marks, the facilities maybe not quite so high.  It's clean, the rooms are tidy, there's soap, the toilet and air conditioning work.  In Lagos you take what you get and you're grateful if it's not awful.  Our electricity went out once, but there were no major malfunctions.  The staff are friendly and hardworking.  Give them N 1,000-1,500 per person as a tip; their commitment to quality is obvious and sincere.  

We did see a major slipup: we put a large amount of luggage (23 items from a 5-person party) in their storage and asked them to make sure it got back to our van for the next leg of our journey.  Well, they did accomplish that: at our next destination we found, um, 24 items; our 23, plus SOME OTHER PERSON'S SUITCASE that had been stored in the same room.  Very very not good for that other person, whoever they were.   We certainly deserve some blame for making them responsible for so much stuff.  But that shows you something about the staff's limitations: their hearts are absolutely in the right place, but if you want them to do something out of the ordinary, you'll need to (GENTLY and POLITELY) follow up and check their work as they go along.  No gold star for the Dover, but no failing mark, either.

Not outstanding, but good enough.

I visited the Dover Hotel recently during a trip to Lagos as my friend was staying there. Located in Lekki on Olubunmi Owa street, it is a nice hotel. It has decent staff, good location and OK facilities.
