Amazing night at the lodge. Staff were amazing. Food was great. Comfortable bed.

Glamping on a high note along one of New Zealand’s Great Walks. Friendly and very helpful staff. The food was amazing!

The Lodge is the perfect place to stay when walking the Abel Tasman track.  Our room was clean with a large bathroom, comfortable bed, a sitting area and a private balcony. 

Food in the restaurant was amazing.  Both my partner and I really enjoyed our meals- so delicious. 

Service provided by all the staff was excellent.  Everyone was friendly and helpful

Beautiful room, delicious food and friendly staff

There is a kind of 'natural luxury' here in the middle of nature on one of the most beautiful beaches in New Zealand. The food is really exceptionally good. The atmosphere in the dining room is legendary. The whole staff is very personal and warm. A highlight is the canoe trip! We heard that the lodge is going to be sold well and hope that this does not lose its quality. After writing these lines I am a little embarrassed and almost a little homesick. I hope to see you soon!

The legendary!

I am not use to traveling on my own but I felt very much at ease here and very comfortable to be alone.  The staff were so helpful and the room clean, spacious and had everything I needed.  I was very happy with the selection on the menu and the wines were superb.  A place to be alone, but not alone !

We arrived by water taxi, this alone made for a worthwhile experience. The captain of the boat was funny, well informed and great company. The porter met us on beach took our luggage to the room with his quad bike and trailer, we walked down beach which we enjoyed.  We got checked into a really nice room overlooking the wetlands. Peaceful well appointed room with balcony and spotlessly clean with air conditioning/heating. Staff more than helpful under the supervision of Nick the manager, couldn’t be more helpful. Dinner was excellent and the chef and staff need special praise as they had only just arrived for the season, commented this was their third day !
Very accommodating and a special place to visit, there was nothing negative to say about our stay. Even the weather didn’t spoil this wonderful place. Thank you all

Wonderful experience 

We spent two nights here to visit Abel Tasman National Park.  The trip in and out on the ferry provides a narrated tour of the Park along the way.  Be aware to plan your arrival in Kaiteriteri in the morning; the last ferry to the lodge leaves at 12:40 pm and you cannot drive there.  We had a package that included a guided sea kayaking tour, but that can also be booked separately.  The kayaking was well run and included sightings of fur seals and a variety of birds.  Avoid buying the lodge's 3-course dinner package; you may well end up spending more than you would to purchase the same items a la cart.  Our Superior Room was spacious but somewhat oddly configured with a step or two down from the bedroom to the living space and then back up again to the bathroom.

Great place to eat while in the middle of the Abel Tasman great walk. Would recommended visiting this before heading to the Awaroa Doc hut. Didn't stay at the Lodges but only stopped by god food. It was a nice treat after having to eat packet meals during the trek. 

Nice little detour from the great walk

Absolutely fabulous location and nice hotel. Standard plus room ( 13) which was nice but didn’t have any privacy when sitting outside.
Insect screen didn’t fit properly so mossi’s were a problem . Many bites on first night so had to have windows shut and air con on which wasn’t ideal and not environmentally sound.
Food was superb as were the staff.

Fabulous

Incredibly highly priced given you pay extra for mediocre food (dinner and breakfast), limited Wifi (1GB), sullen staff and no room service. This place feels like a backpackers cafe but purports to be more exclusive and charges accordingly. I feel the owners know they have ‘captured customers’ on Abel Tasman and are cynically determined to milk them for all they are worth whilst they are staying on their property. We left feeling ‘ripped off’.
