The Golden Lake Hotel

We were with a group tour and had a spacious double room with a comfortable king size bed. Everything was spotlessly clean. We had a nice hot shower. Towels, soap, shampoo, and other essentials were provided. The breakfast was typical Asian. We were allowed one egg per person, cooked to order, along with all we could eat from everything else on the bar. They had classical music playing softly in the background, which added a touch of elegance to the environment. For those familiar with U.S. hotel brands, I would rate this between Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn Express. The location was some distance from other businesses and attractions, not within walking distance, but not far enough to be an issue if you have a car or other transportation available. The cost for our room was 30,000 kyats (~$22.50 USD), with breakfast and taxes included. We're not sure whether this was the regular rate or a special rate negotiated for our group. The fact that we were traveling in the off-season may have impacted our rate as well.
