Agave del Mar

Acapulco is a wonderful and hot destination yet for those who prefer a more quiet, relaxing and personalize setting, this beach town, Luces en el Mar, of commonly called Pie de la Cuesta, is a magnificent choice. There is the option of a home for approximately 10 people (give or take) with private entrance and steps from the waves, a cooking area by the pool and jacuzzi, and an open living area. This place is perfect for a large and relaxed party, family or friends. Regardless of the possibility to cook in your villa, you can have the kitchen from Agave Condos prepare meals and drinks for the party. Villa Bamboo-Pie de la Cuesta (for google searches). Agave is a 3 story building with different size units for rent, the location is my favorite as it is 40 min away from popular Acapulco, and the beach is almost deserted. I first found out about this place because I was trying to identify a spot I could travel with my dogs, so this is a place where you will find dog owners running down the shore side wise to their best friend. On of the things that makes or breaks a vacation is indeed service, and Maru the cook, Indira and Javi who are in direct contact with guests are sweet and pleasing! The menu is easy and extense enough for 4-5 days, and if I had to highlight something it would be the fish-pescadillas (vg. fried empanada in a corn tortilla), not necessarily the lightest, but who is counting on a holiday right? Both properties face the ocean and have private parking which I found very convenient safety wise, specially if you are a smaller group. Also the place serves as a day beach club (service ends by 7-8pm), and yes food and beverages must be consumed at the place. Lastly, like any pacific beach the waves and currents are strong, close to the shore action is fun and recommended, I would add that heavy swimming only for experts and at their own risk.
