Solo female traveler approved!!! The Flamingo Hotel is a true gem. I stayed there for 27 nights and here are some examples as to why:1. As a female independent traveler, safety is paramount. The Flamingo Hotel has an excellent reputation for safety and Francisco, the night guard, is always promptly ready to keep an eye on the hotel after hours. All rooms are electronic-entry. The hotel is a peaceful oasis placing it close enough to the boardwalk for easy walking but not so close that you feel like you’re in the fray. It is literally the perfect location. 2. Staff is par excellence: The owner, Tom, is welcoming and respectful at all times. Tom was so helpful in obtaining a taxi, is bilingual, and can easily advise on nearby places to eat or visit. Oscar, concierge elite, is the right-hand man who ensures that guests are informed & comfortable at every level. He is at the top of the hospitality game! Many reviews mention how wonderful Oscar is and they’re all true. Next, Carolina and Angela prepare the BEST food with a full menu of healthy ingredients and delicious meals (I highly recommend the tortilla espanola, huevos rancheros, or the French toast!!). 3. Location, location, location: Positioned within quick walking access to the best burritos on the island (shout out to Crazy King Burritos), many shops, the plaza, and yes the beautiful ocean! You can see the ocean from the rooftop pool. The Flamingo Hotel is a 10/10–and will be my go-to for many years to come!
