The attention since arrival is very kind and you immediately feel at home. The place is super beautiful and the rooms very cozy, that's not to mention the restaurant which is very comfortable to be available while you're staying. I'll definitely return, as I've made Guanajuato part of my life, as well as this beautiful hotel.

Socavón, it's part of my life;)

Actually, the rest of a visit to Guanajuato is part of the trip and El Socavón meets this point. However, there are details to consider. Its wifi requires improvements as the signal is intermittent in the rooms. These are neat and clean without major exaggerations. The breakfast included is good and the recommendation is the Spanish cake that is very rich. An additional point is that, a few meters away, it counts as a neighborhood within a convenience store that serves very well before leaving to tour Guanajuato or when returning for a refreshment.

The care at this hotel was incredible, in addition to the breakfast included service that it offers.The facilities are very nice, just not I call it excellent because the furniture in our room looked in need of maintenance, otherwise it was an excellent stay!

A pleasant and cozy hotel.

We stayed in the month of January 2019.Everything was fine, the room was clean and almost no noise was heard, the location is a little out of the Alhóndiga but the hotel is nice.This time it included free breakfast.And although there were many diners, there was little staff, but still, the breakfast was pleasant. (We have to get up early for quick service)

Beautiful and comfortable.

The hotel's facade doesn't tell what's inside, it looks like it's very careless and it's not like that, the entrance is very peculiar, it's something different. The stay was very quiet, rooms were clean, the restaurant didn't change the menu daily, I consider it a hotel to keep things and go out to explore the city and get to sleep, it has parking, I didn't move the vehicle during the days I was there, I didn't have any bad weather. What could be improved: No safety deposit box, the lock is simple, no shampoo, no towels worn. If you don't have demanding tastes this is an excellent place, the price indicates it, it's cheap.

It is pleasant, beautiful and accessible.

The hotel is beautiful, old mansion, spacious, the entrance simulates the entrance of the mines, the staff is attentive, there is no elevator, it has a nice courtyard and a good restaurant.

It's picturesque.

We stayed overnight at the hotel socavon in guanajuato.  The town is overwhelmingly beautiful with mountains, tunnels, alleys and friendly people. The hotel looks historic but we were told it was built in 1982.  Maybe renovated at that time but I am not sure. Feels like you are in a 200 year old building. Room was very clean and no problems. Basic as is what we have been finding in Mexico though very good for the price. I would recommend and would stay here again. From the road it’s not very impressive but very nice when you get inside.

Beautiful Guanajuato

The hotel is central, the rooms are modest and clean. The price is quite competitive, the parking lot is bad, it is not paved and lacks privacy, so all the neighbors know who climbs, who comes down and who carries. They have no king size beds, single marriage. The price includes the breakfast that is abundant and with good weather, not very varied, in three days we try all the breakfasts. Coffee is something you can skip and it's best to have a drink of juice (fresh, seasonal).

Good price-service ratio

The hotel is not so well located, it is close to a not very pleasant area, the whole hotel is very neglected, the wooden beams are rotten due to lack of maintenance, in the room I found a cockroach which made me feel uncomfortable because they had just finished cleaning, the food is very regular the juice I took tasted like earth, I would not stay there again for this aspect, although the staff was kind at all times.

 ECONOMIC 

Hotel Socavon is located on a busy street just a short walk from Mercado Hidalgo. 
Some of the rooms overlook a nice patio. It is right next to an Oxxo and an Extra convenience store (ie. 7-eleven store)  
The hotel has a restaurant on site. The rate included a breakfast from 7:30 to 11:30 am. You get to choose 1 item from the menu which includes drink. The parking is 20 meters from the hotel. The beds were comfortable.
