We really enjoyed our stay here. First of all, they were very accommodating when we needed to arrive super early in the morning and get some sleep after an overnight flight. The room was charming and comfortable, the gardens were picturesque with hummingbirds buzzing around everywhere. The wifi was great, and the owner was very friendly. I highly recommend this place for an independent traveller looking for less traditional accommodation and a memorable experience.

Really enjoyed the stay. Owners are very friendly and helpful. The location is walking distance from the historic area of town as well as the markets. However, Las Sabilas is so lovely that I was tempted to just stay in the gardens and by the pool all day. Returning to such a peaceful place after a day of walking, sight seeing, and handling the shopping crowds was such a treat. 

I am a constant traveller and I have stayed in many places, and this is, no doubt, the most beautiful house i've ever been to. I stayed in the room next to the pool and the view is amazing. I fell in love with the garden and each corner of the house.

The location is great if you want to explore the city, because it's close to everything.

I have stayed at Las Sabilas twice, once when it was run by Robert and recently when it was run by David and Wyn.  They are wonderful hosts and they have made some upgrades and repairs.  The place is beautiful and charming.  It has a great central location that is close to so many things.  You will really get the feel for life in Guadalajara.  The common kitchen was convenient and the patio was a great place  to relax, plan your day, talk to the owners and guests, and get advice about getting around and what to see and eat.  The first time I stayed in the Garden Room which is truly amazing.   I travelled all over the world and this is one of the most memorable and unique places I have ever stayed at.   

I booked Las Sabilas on a last minute Spring Break Trip to Mexico. I was heading to Guanajuato and decided to spend a night in Guadalajara. Well, my one night stay, turned into a three night stay. Las Sabilas is beautiful! Upon arriving, you're greeted with a traditional Mexican city style home. Then you walked in and you're instantly transported into a another world. 

The Guys were wonderful, they catered to my every need. The restaurant next door is a major plus. I was traveling solo, so I felt very comfortable sitting out in the late night hours eating tacos with travelers I met while staying at Las Sabilas.

My only area of improvement would be the cleanliness of the rooms. I would surely stay at Las Sabilas during my next travel adventure to Guadalajara.

Great Place!

Metropolitan Garden Oasis

This was the referral from a couple I met so I wanted to go check it out based on their recommendation. I went with my partner to look at the place only to discover that the photos were copacetic with what we saw. It was truly beautiful and seemed like it could be a paradise to live there for a short or even a long period of time. Unfortunately one of the owners is rude and unprofessional beyond belief which is written up in a few other reviews I've seen here both on Google and TripAdvisor. He and I had talked about my staying there for a month beginning in May and we agreed that I would contact him on Tuesday after the eclipse. Of course I did this and I contacted him for the next 4 days to no avail because I sent him text messages to which he did not respond as well as I called him several times where it seemed like there was something wrong with the phone because he didn't answer so I left a message finally to which I got no response either. Finally on Saturday 4 days after we were supposed to connect my partner emailed a man we had met on the property staying there for a few days who said he was a friend of this owner. He then wrote us back this morning saying that I would not be a proper fit for the property which is inappropriate behavior. I don't see how anyone can run a property particularly that seemingly beautiful a property and not be responsive to everyone who wants to stay there particularly when everyone has friends and can refer or not certain places. It was the completely unreliable, inconsistent, unprofessional way in which he did not respond to me that is unbelievable because in business it doesn't matter whether you like the personality of the person who may be staying there. What matters is their ability to pay their rent and if you have a doubt as to whether they can pay the rent you should ask for references.
