friendly, clean and very budget hotel. the room is clean, bedsheets too. the bed is top notch comfortable because i slept like a baby. the shower is clean and have a hairdryer inside which i like it. the tv is small, but still okay to watch. have 2 bottle compliment water, the hotel has a lift too. the only downside is, it's too hard to find  parking spot as this is consider central of kk. the best is try to find during peak hour of work, as they many car leave a spot.

this will be one of my favorite budget hotel in kota kinabalu :) 

worth the penny

The summer hotel is located close to the centre of KK including the Gaya Street.  There are lots of shops and restaurants near by.  The room was comfortable and fairly quiet considering its location.  Wifi was fast, staff friendly and fairly inexpensive.

Good location, Good value, Comfortable

overall this hotel was very good considering the price, the hotel staff were friendly, check in and check out were smooth and they helped us book a taxi to the airport. The room was quite small, not much space between the two beds and lacked storage area for clothes ( 5 hangers for two people), Due to the location you can hear some traffic noise. The A/C worked really well and there was a decent en-suite shower room with shower gel and hot water .

No need to depend on expedia regarding booking/check-in protocol

The hotel is ok, but we had better ones for the same price or even cheaper. The AC was extremely loud and there was only cold water in the shower.
It is situated close to a lot of malls and the peer which was nice.

They had the rooms redone, which you can see. The bef is good, as is the shower and the a/c. Tv tho only has two channels, which is strange i'd say. 

Big negative point is the breakfast. Its ridicule. You get a plastic container with two sausages, an old piece of egg and a piece of bread thats been soaking in egg and sojamilk with a straw. No coffee or tea. Plain awful.

Other than the breakfast a fine hotel

Rooms with A/C are small but super clean. Very cheap and value for money. Great location. Only the breakfast was super simple, but I didn't expect more for this price. One staff person didn't speak good English and booked a taxi wrongly. The alley next to the hotel is dark and dirty and full with rats, don't go there. 

Besides breakfast .. Super recommended

Stayed at Summer Hotel for two nights. The room and bathroom was clean.The surrounding had good variety of food restaurants. The staff was helpful when you needed them. 

The only issue the hotel is can't be seen from the main road and located at the back of main street.
