We spent 4 nights at this incredible camp. Everything was excellent. It was the perfect balance of experiencing tenting in the Mara with great food, a comfortable bed, hot showers, and the kindest staff imaginable. 

The word we used over and over was peaceful. Waking up to the sounds of the Mara while enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch was the perfect way to start the day. 

I do want to express gratitude to Jacob, Bryan, and Agnes who went out of their way every day to make sure our trip was perfect. 

I would recommend this resort to anyone!

Just a place you know you will come back sooner rather than later.  Everything is here to make your stay unforgettable: proximity to wildlife, friendliness of the people, luxury of the accommodations. Last, but not least, the professionalism of (some of)the guides. Our guide for three days has been John: we strongly recommend him, not only for his friendliness, but also because he will teach you so much about environmental issues and animal behavior

The people and service are amazing and welcoming! They spend time explaining traditions and customs of their country and tribes. We had great food and great scenery of giraffes and baboons while we had breakfast. It was an amazing experience!

A great setting, wonderfully helpful (mostly Masai) staff and really sound ecological ethos makes Basecamp special. Tents are luxurious (extremely comfortable beds and great showers) and very private. A lovely place to relax when you aren't in the Mara (which it connects to via a rope walkway over the river). Food was delicious - simple breakfasts (fruit, yoghurt and some cooked options), and a couple of choices of starter and mains for lunch and dinner. Took a sunrise balloon ride + breakfast in the Mara one day - expensive ($450 pp) but very special as a once in a lifetime experience!

Tanks to the wonderful staff and guide at base camp we hade two incredible days that will be with us fore long! The food is great , the service is fantastic, the rooms are incredible soo this was much more of everything than I hade expected. We will get back her in the future.

What a place and what an experience. What a host, guide and staff! Safari with Smiling John who knows the place and all the animals. A fantastic guide. The care and service we received from Rose was fantastic. Thank you very much for a unique and wonderful experience, which we will remember for life.

I stayed at Basecamp Masai Mara for three days and had an awesome experience! The camp and rooms were clean and very comfortable, the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and the safaris were incredible! John was my guide and he made sure we went to locations to see the animals I was hoping to take pictures of.

When we came to the camp we were amazed by the good service and how nice they were to us. The food was amazing and we loved our server Andrew what a very good guy he is.  The safari was so good our driver John took us to places we saw the top 5 and we were alone on the safari and he respected the animals

The most beautiful camp. The view to the wildlife is exciting 😊 Clean, pleasant, friendly and professional service all around. The amazing Masai people taking care of it all ❤️ The tents are just beautiful- sounds of nature surrounding us. 
Two people that we got to know extra are the waiter Andrew - such a pleasant person attending us  in such a friendly manner whilst surving us the most delicious food. 
Smiling John- the best guide for game drive. Very knowledgeable teaching us about the ecosystem and nature of animals- respecting the animals with his driving and approach to them. And what a funny guy🤗 Basecamp Massi Mara has been the best 🙏

We stayed for 3 nights at Basecamp Masai Mara and 4 nights at Eagle View for our honeymoon. We LOVED our experience and can't recommend it enough. Staying at two separate locations allowed us to have two different experiences; the Masai Mara is vast and amazing, and the protected reserve where Eagle View is located offered a more intimate, relaxed experience. The game drives were amazing and our drivers (Manfred and Seki) were wonderful, knowledgable, kind, and always checking in to make sure we were having a great experience. The staff at both lodges were so kind and it was a delight to get to know them. Johnson at Eagle View went out of his way to make our last night so special! Sophia at Basecamp was also so great. 

The only negative about the trip was that we were unfortunately paired with a young family (2 kids -- 1 was 6 years old and the other was 15 months -- yes, you read that correctly) for two days, and it was a terrible experience to be on game drives with them. The kids were crying and screaming and talking and singing the whole time, which was disruptive to us, the driver, the jeeps/guests around us, and the animals. We were watching lions hunt a buffalo and the kids began screaming and crying out of fear that they would see a successful hunt. It was wild. Basecamp should really not allow such young kids to go on safari, and if they do, it should be a different experience and these young families should either go solo or be paired with other young families. 

That being said, our driver went out of his way to salvage our experience and gave us a special private drive, which was a highlight of our trip that we still talk about today. We'll definitely be back!
