What a wonderful place with lovely hosts and great food! We spent a couple of nights here as a family and enjoyed every single second of it. Not only the whole island is a very special place, but this minshuku made the stay even more special. Clean rooms, friendly people and great food on top! The flying fish is especially memorable.

This is Japanese style lodging.  Tatami floor rooms, you make your futon on the floor.  A nice bonus is a sink in your room.  Common bathrooms and bathing, all very clean.  There is a huge tub!   We fit 3 in it!They relate towels, a toothbrush and a you kata (Japanese robe). The food is delicious and the staff are extremely helpful.  We had fried flying fish one night and Ton Katsu the other.

I had a big traditional japanese root in the annex.
Well located in Miyanoura (20 min afoot from the port, can be a problem when it's raining).
The japanese breakfast is very good.
The staff doesn't speak a word of english and the wifi is pretty bad.

This is the typical Japanese guest house, if you want to stay in a place with japanese traditional way of leaving this is your place. You will have to sleep in futon, a traditional Japanese bedding consisting of padded mattresses and quilts pliable enough to be folded and stored away during the day. You don't get to pick your food, breakfast and dinner it's always all traditional Japanese dishes so be open minded about it. The rooms are big and clean and fresh.
