Great place! A homey and quiet guesthouse, Yosh and his wife are wonderful hosts! They offered us a ride to the station the day we left and gave us a fuji mount room no extra charge - so nice!5 minuets walk from the bus stop, transportation is very easy to anywhere in the lakes area.A little pricy and not so fancy...but highly recommended!

The hosts Yoshiaki  and Yukadi are a very warm and helpful couple. 
The room is big with an ensuite bathroom,has very pleasing interiors and everything in it as promised.
The hosts insisted on carrying our bags to our room on the 1st floor(steep stairs).
Tips for travellers who would like to book the place
1) Take the red line bus (380 yen pp) and get off at the musical forest museum.It is a 5 to 7 min walk from there. Please ask your hosts to give you detailed instructions on how to get there. 
2)They take cash only for the booking payment.
A tip for the hosts-
Since you have provided an electric kettle it will be helpful to have fair sized cups for tea/coffee in the room.

We went there for Kawaguchiko firework. This place is really nice, good location to see the fireworks. The owners are kind, helpful with excellent service mind. They were so worried when we told them that we got lost so we could not find the way to go to the place. Breakfast was superb, fresh organic vegetables and homemade panna cotta still are in my mind. Also, the owner drove us to Kawaguchiko station too. 

Highly recommend if you are looking for the small and lovely accommodation around Kawaguchiko lake.

Love the area was really tranquil and relaxed and country. The view of the Mt. Fuji from right outside of the house was absolutely beautiful! However, the area was abit too far-off from Kawaguchiko station, though a 7mins walk from bus stop 17/18 (Red Line Bus). Do note that Kawaguchiko station is bus stop 1.

Had a wonderful stay with the Kuribayashi family ... which includes Maro ... their very playful daschund.  The food was excellent, the atmosphere warm and the room comfortable.  The location is off the main road, but not difficult to find.  Yoshiaki-san ... Mizue and I were able to see Fujiyama by taking the bus shuttle to Station 5, so thank you for the suggestion.  We really enjoyed your gracious hospitality and look forward to staying with you again.

Gasthof Melange visit August 23, 2015

This hotel-house is located in a neighborhood near Kawaguchiko and you need to go either by bus (4 blocks away) or taxi.
Good breakfast. Rooms in 2nd. And 3rd. Floor accessible only by very steep stairs. Although owners try to help with luggage the stairs are for young people.
If requested in advance you may have dinner in the hotel.
Is within walking distance of Kawaguchiko lake and early morning you get a great view and reflections of Mt. Fuji
