Absolutely loved our time here! The owner was very welcoming and helpful, we were able to do a few loads of washing which was really needed. The property is spacious and very cutely decorated. Each piece of decoration brought us Joy. Highly recommended.

The accommodation was very good, it is somewhat removed away from transportation, the owner and his wife are most gracious the bed is comfortable and clean sheets.  The best of all is the toilet, it is the best to experience in my entire trip to Japan, Japan showers and toilets are wonderful, but la Posada has a toilet that auto open the toilet cover and the too system is the latest flushing system.

We were very pleasantly surprised by La Posada. The place was comfortable and well-equipped. The balcony on our unit had a great view of the lake and most of Mt. Fuji, with just a part of it behind trees. I think all the units would have a great view of the lake.It seemed out of the way in the map, but it’s surprising close to many things.There’s a shrine and waterfall next door and on top of a nearby hill is a view that rivals that at the Arakurayama Sengen Shrine, minus the cherry trees. It’s only a 20 minute walk to the lake - we walked to the lake, got dinner at the 7-11 nearby, and sat on the shore eating with a view of Mt. Fuji. We had a car so didn’t look into public transit but we saw people at bus stops on the main street, so this place is usable even without a car, and it’s much quieter than the places downtown.Two minor issues - the parking lot is narrow like the streets, so though the spaces are generous it requires concentration to get a car in and out. Also, there seemed to be a sewage smell in the parking lot, not sure where it came from.All in all, this is a great place to stay if you’re visiting the area.

Lovely house with all amenities including a bbq area with fantastic views of Mr  Fuji. The owners went out of their way to help us with all our needs aa one in our party was hospitalized. Fully recommend it to anyone visiting Mt Fuji.

Amazing hospitality

A lovely cottage that has 2 levels - level 1 house 4 beds, shower room & toilet. Level 2 is living area & a well-equipped kitchen plus balcony. The front porch has facility for BBQ & parking. Interior are nicely done & decorated to give cozy feel

The cottage was very cute and cozy. The area was really nice and quiet and we had a great view of the mountain on the balcony. Even though it was a bit far from the main road, it was a short walk to the lake.

Great place!

Historical hotel, very interesting architecture and beautiful gardens and landscaping.  Very good dining in the Turquoise Room.  Staff helpful and courteous. That being said, the plumbing is a problem. We stayed on the 2nd floor. During my shower, water flow completely stopped.  We both ended up taking a pitcher of water from the sink into the shower to rinse shampoo from our hair. The staff gave a $40 refund for our trouble.

Cosy, clean and well furnished rooms / residences!Comfortable beds and all amenities provided.Easy to navigate to from train station and bus terminal (Kawaguchiko)Super friendly and helpful hosts, they even drove us to the station on our check out day to our surprise, lovely people.Wish we had booked a longer stay here!

We stayed at the La Posada cottage for 4 nights and had a wonderful time, the best time in Japan!

We can actually see Mt. Fuji from our room (we stayed in unit A) and the lady who owns the place actually drove us to the temple of our choice AND to the main station to avoid hauling our luggage into the local small and always packed Red Bus! Incredible service!

Of the places we stayed in Japan for 13 days, the days we stayed here were the most relaxed and enjoyable. We cooked, we spent time at the cottage and we visited the beautiful temple right next to the cottage, a National Heritage site! Wish we can learn how to hook up with the local bus to the Red Bus line that takes us around the lake. It is a bit of a walk from our cottage to the bus station# 16 to catch the Red Bus, but it allowed us to visit the fish market that had fresh sashimi and pickles and other goodies to eat at the cottage.

Great place! Love the ambience and the clean upkeep. Will come back.

Stay during the Cherry Blossom peak in 2018

This place was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan.  Immaculate Japanese cottage right next to an amazing shrine.  The hosts were INCREDIBLE.  Went out of there way to help a family of English speakers have an amazing time.  Despite the language challenges we had a great time between our Japanese/English mix-match.
