Il Girasole Bed and Breakfast

Stayed for a week at B&B Il Girasole in June 19 with a friend and had a great time. Maria, her family and Guisy are very welcoming, helpful and friendly, they made our stay all that more special. If you dont speak Italian Google translation makes a big difference. The rooms were very clean, good shower room plenty of hot water. I had a room with a balcony which was great. Typical Sicilian breakfast all very fresh. Il Girasole has secure parking and hiring a car may be useful to some travellers. 10 minutes walk (along small roads) to resort centre and beach, plenty of trattoria's. Also a post office, pharmacy, small supermarket, tourist information etc. Lovely beach, you can find space to put down your towels without paying for sun lounger and showers, at least when we where there. There is one block of public toilets. The sea water is very clear, very welcoming to cool off and swim. Establishments along the promenade for food and drink. Good bus service to Palermo every 10 minutes from early to late in the day. Palermo has good transport links to other areas, but check times as there may not be many buses etc out of high season to some areas. Mondello is very Sicilian, with traditional food served, friendly people and quite laid back. We found the weekend to be very busy but had no problem with finding a table at a good trattoria. We had a very good holiday.
