Very good Mary is a very welcoming person. She gives you lovely homemade scones on arrival. Her breakfast is fantastic with plenty of choice. Roomwas lovely and comfortable.  She is very helpful Nothing too much trouble very quiet a great sleep. Will definitely return here again. Anne Dublin 

We stayed here for two nights whilst touring the Cork area.  We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for Mary, our host.  This isn't the most modern place but we loved it.  Excellent breakfast.

Faced with a 5 hour drive from Rosslare ferry port to the Dingle Peninsular, I looked for a staging post to make the journey less challenging.  I found the perfect place in Sundown House, near Castlemartyr which is about a 2 hour drive from Rosslare.  It is a modern bungalow with ample parking and the host, Mary, could not be more welcoming and helpful.  Nothing is too much trouble to her - she even phoned a local dining pub to keep an eye out for me when I arrived for a meal and they did just that!  You will not be lacking in energy for your travels the following day because breakfast is not only delicious but is generous in portions.  Next time I make that rip I will be staying here.

if you want to experience real Irish hospitality then you won't do better than here. Great hosts and the best homemade scones and full Irish breakfast in had. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and I will be back soon. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone

My wife and I were attending a wedding at nearby Castlemartyr. We stayed at Sundown house for two nights. Mary and David provided is with a typical very warm Irish welcome, with the added bonus of complimentary scones with tea. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and quite. Great choices for breakfast which was prepared to a very high standard. David very kindly drove us back to the wedding venue to collect our car the next day. We would definitely stay at Sundown house again and would highly recommend it. Thank you Mary and David

Without doubt, Mary and her husband David are the loveliest and kindest people you'll ever meet.
We came over for the Youghal Ironman for 4 nights and Mary welcomed us with the biggest home made scones .... as warm as her welcome!
They couldn't have been more helpful during our stay, even cooking us an 'extra' supper fry-up when we returned on the night of the ironman challenge (and lending us extra rain coats for the famous 'soft rain')!

The food is delicious, the beds comfy and the location perfect for exploring (and so quiet and peaceful at night).... if you are planning a visit, and you like simple home comforts and lovely people, you'd be a fool to stay anywhere else.

I stayed here with my partner last weekend as we were attending a wedding in the nearby Castle Martyr. Mary was an incredible host and went over and above to make us feel at home. Room was super clean and comfortable. Bed was made the following morning and fresh towels put in the bathroom. Mary even offered us a lift to collect our car if we wanted to leave it at the resort. The breakfast was fantastic, with lots of hot and cold food options on offer. Highly recommend staying here, we’ll certainly be back!

We stayed 3 days here and would have loved to have stayed more. What a wonderful time. Our host, Mrs Mary was absolutely amazing. We had a late arrival the first night and she was ready with tea and scones. My wife loved the tea she was serving. The next day after we got back from site seeing, there was a box of the tea in our room for us. Such a very thoughtful gesture. Can't wait to return to Ireland and book this B&B.

Mrs Mary was just amazing!  Very friendly and helpful!  She gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner!  Room was a little on the smaller side; but for only staying one night, it was exactly what we needed.  Bed Was comfortable.  Breakfast was great!  Thank you so much! Would recommend this B&B!
