It's a small homestay in the middle of a small village near Kuta. You sit at breakfast and you can watch cows between the palm trees. Very friendly and helpful staff and people in the village. Unfortunately, I only had time for three days there. Next time I would stay longer.

Homestay in a cozy village with friendly locals

Very friendly. Unfortunately a garbage fire was burning almost constantly next door that we could smell constantly

Roby is an exceptional host! We ended up spending 5 days at his homestay and would have stayed longer.   He is always available to answer all your questions and help as much as possible. Him and Nella, his wife, are both warm and caring hosts and we strongly recommend this homestay to everyone passing by Lombok. On our last night we even got to enjoy a traditional homemade Lombok dinner with Roby and his brother. Thank you for cooking, Nella, it was enak! Thanks for everything, Roby, hope to see you again!

Amazing stay at Roby Homestay

The room was very clean, and the staff was very hospitable. Tea and coffee available all day, scooter to rent, etc. But we had a big problem with booking transportation to our next destination. We had agreed on a price (much more expensive than in other homestays around here, please check it out!) for the taxi, supposed to drop us off at our hotel.

Very good stay, before a bad transportation experience

At first we’ve been at next homestay (Toni is brother of Róby 😉), but then they moved us here, to Róby homestay, because we Booked one night and on the end we spend there ten days 😄. 
Room is simple, with a fan, good bed, cold shower. And cheap. Location is not bad, Toni is renting scooters in very good quality, so in Kuta beach/city you are in five minutes. 
Room is inclufing breakfast, every day the same - banana pancakes, sometimes even without banana. 
I recomended this, anyway, for a price (100.000 IDR/2 people) it is very good.

Simple living

Stayed here for one night, Home stay is situated i a small farm village. Room was clean (only cold water), breakfast with pancakes was good as well. The price for the homestay was fair, although felt like the owner was mostly interested in getting his guests to use his taxi service, which was much more expensive than at other places.

I found myself another cheaper taxi (just walk down the road, go left and to the first small shop), but was disappointed in this matter, in most homestays the hosts are really trying to help you with cheap taxi's, good excursions and are not trying to make more money out of it

Clean room, good breakfast

Stayed here for supposedly two nights. We stayed there for one night and woke up with bed bugs. We moved to a different accommodation because we found the bed crawling with them. Roby was very unsympathetic about the whole situation. I would check your beds before staying here! 

Awful

We had a great stay at Roby’s Guesthouse.  We planned to stay a day or two and ended up staying for 10 days.  The place was clean and very comfortable.  I slept like a baby.  I also enjoyed sitting on the porch getting some work done with his terrific internet.  We heard many people at other locations mention that their internet worked only sometimes while we found Roby’s the best we have had in SE Asia - honestly.  

The location is fantastic.  It is very close to Kuta yet just far enough to feel remote with good local restaurants and laundry a couple mins walk away.  We made friends with several people in the neighborhood/village who stayed much longer than planned because of the area. The good and low priced scooters make it even easier to get around. 

The staff (his friends) were great and always around if needed.  They  were ready to make breakfast (banana pancakes) whenever you were ready, even in the afternoon.  They also gave great suggestions based on what we were looking for.  Finally, we really liked Roby, himself.  Just an all-around good guy.

Great stay at great location

Good wifi, good bungalow, good cleanliness, good breakfast, good deal, reliable place to rent a car... everything perfect. The only defect would be that it is not as centrally located as it used to be.

an excellent treatment.

We spent three nights at Roby's house. A few rooms in this very quiet place, where we found the charm of the countryside. Roby is very welcoming and friendly. The rooms remain modest. Tea and coffee at will. One or two nice small restaurants in the village. It's better to rent a scooter because it's a little isolated. But the beach and the village are still feasible on foot!
