Mary is a lovely elderly lady who stayed up way past her bedtime to greet us. On the surface apt looked clean.  Next day cutlery had been left in a cup to dry & was rusty, hob plates were rusty, little space to cook. Nowhere to hang shower head, water not draining (got athlete's foot, yuuck!) Water pressure poor from every tap!! Traffic noise interrupted sleep, Aircon extra cost, mosquitoes hungry!! Balcony tiny. Plus side, sheets changed frequently. Stripped bed last day (thankfully last day or wouldn't have slept in it!) Mattress sheet yellow sweat stains!

Maybe good in the 70'!

We stayed two weeks at villa melia in july 2018. We have absolutely no complaints! For my family, this was a perfect place for our vacation. Its reasonable price, large apartment, good cleaning and the host is fantastic. The kitchen is simple, but all you need to cook yor meals. the host was very helpful to us. The best thing with the apartment is definitely the location. The street is fairly quiet, it has a good supermarket with a great bakery next door and you have access to a good pool across the street. Walking down a long hill you have access to the beach with lots of pools and attractions for free (star bech), and a large hyper marked (spar). We walked a bit further away and there was some beaches more quiet. At the end of the street from the property is a very nice area of fantastic restaurant. I would definitely recommend this villa, if you prefer a more quiet place than busy hotels with lots of tourists. 

Great place.

I stayed here with my 3 young children for 8 nights . Hospitality in this place is excellent . A family warm welcome. Mary made my stay very enjoyable and was always happy to help when needed . 
Room is very large , basic but all in working Order . Balcony in both bedrooms . Very clean and most of all safe !
The kitchen isn't much to cook from but comprised of 2 cooking rings , fridge and kettle . 
Bathroom had shower only .  Towels were changed twice but Mary was always happy to exchange your towels when needed . The villa doesn't have a pool , but can use the hotel pool across the road , or the sun dance hotel where the villa faces at 3 euros a day person . ( a lot nicer ) 
Beach is 20 minute walk down a steep hill. Well worth a visit . 
I will defiantly come back again . Thanks again :)

We spent eleven days in August in Crete and stayed in Villa Melia for five days. We chose this studio in primis for the inviting price (very cheap, 20 euros a night), but also for the photo on Booking. The property is located in a charming village (Koutouloufari) full of typical restaurants and shops, but on the hill, about 800 meters from the nearest beach. When we arrived the owner gave us the keys, every time we didn't see it again, even at the time of departure, when we left the keys to a girl who told us that we could give her a little toiletries. We don't know who it was!
