Oggersheimer Hof

The hotel staff really makes you feel at home. It's really this which sets Hotel Oggersheimer Hof apart from staying in a bigger hotel. The accommodations are basic, but sufficient. Everything is there to enjoy your stay and leave a lasting positive impression! I would definitely return, if given the chance. I have recommended it to colleagues who may also travel there for business. Highlights about the area: -quiet town -- safe for walking at day/night. -enough restaurant options within 10-15 min walk (for a 1 week stay) -near grocery stores -across the street from a decent breakfast / coffee shop -10 min walk to tram / strassenbahn -30 to 40 min tram ride from Oggersheim to either the wine country or to larger city -parking... I didn't have a car for my 2 week visit, but enjoy walking / tram Side notes: Mannheim / Heidelberg is where you may need to head for sight-seeing / night-life. I was there in the winter,so everything was pretty much closed up by 10. This was also the case with Bad Durkheim, btw. While Bad Durkheim is worth checking out, as it's a beautiful town, and this is part of their wine region, I didn't get that same "at-home" feeling while staying there. It felt very touristy. Also, the transportation in Bad Durkheim is a definite step down, due to the reduced frequency (Oggersheim's tram remains frequent every 10-15 min while Bad Durkheim is every hour during non-rush hour times).
