On a drive through the Black Forest (where we live), we came across this Gasthaus just in time for lunch. Tucked away from the main street, beside a brook (the Muehlenbach), the garden restaurant surrounded by an array of plants and statues, with the burbling brook beside, made for a very pleasant lunch. The food matched the environment. The menu features all the local favourites from the Black Forest area, but added to that are a number of special dishes and today (for three days) we were lucky enough to be able to choose from Thai specialities. Authentic, light and summery, the dishes we chose were just right for the sunny weather. The prices for food and wine are very reasonable, the environment delightful and the service friendly. According to the brochure that came with our bill, the husband and wife team offer various special arrangements and menus throughout the year. If you're on a tour of the Black Forest, stop off here for a bite - you won't be disappointed!
