Stayed here last summer and it is well located, being a short walk across the bridge from the centre of the small Black Forest town of Gengenbach.

The rooms were clean, if a little dated, but certainly comfortable. The breakfast was the usual German fayre and there was ample of it.

There is parking in a courtyard to the left of the building in the picture below and the access door is on the right side of the building, not via the door at the front.

Good value option in Gengenbach

Second visit in two years to Gengenbach and the Christmas market. This hotel immediately convinced us. 3 minutes walk from the main square in the old town. Clean and spacious rooms, friendly and available owners. Breakfast is rich and varied, with both sweet and savory products. The hotel also has a restaurant that we did not have the opportunity to try.

The hotel is very centrally located in the center of Gengenbach. The operators are very friendly. The hotel and the rooms have also gotten a little old and need to be urgently renovated. However, everything is very clean. The breakfast is very good.

Good location, friendly and clean

Excellent stay! Nice, spacious, clean and comfortable room. Had a separate room for my daughter. Ideally located, close to main square and not far from train station. Good breakfast. Highly recommend.

Wonderful stay

Good points:  ideally located.  It's literally a two to three minute walk into the main square which is stunningly picturesque with some restaurants and bars.  The room was very clean and comfortable.

Not so good points: the room is very basic and the bathroom is very small.  The hotel is on quite a busy road with a main cross road so can be noisy at night if you want the windows open.  We tried to check in a bit earlier than 3.00 pm and was told in no uncertain terms over the intercom we had to come back at 3.00pm .  Breakfast was ok but not brilliant.

Ideally located but basic

Fortunately, my son and I had a room to stay in the flower. The first telephone contact was very friendly, the mail contact was also very friendly. On the spot the host was also very friendly and helpful, explained everything to us and also gave us tips. It is close to the city centre/walking area (5 minutes by foot). The room was beautiful, very clean and the bathroom was quite new. Breakfast was very good, with a choice I did not expect. Breakfast was on point. When we go back to Gengenbach, we will definitely visit here first! Thank you very much!

Very friendly, very clean, reasonable price.

We spent several nights here and love the location for exploring the Black Forest.  The room was impeccably clean and the bed was comfortable .  The room was not huge but it had a table and chair. Lots of hot water, free wifi and appeared to be recently updated.  It is a 5 minute walk into town.  the only downside was the being on the top floor and carrying suitcases up.  I need to travel lighter.  Nice buffet breakfast.

The excellent bed and clarity of the room The proximity to the heart of the village which allows for a nice walk The welcome of the staff The breakfast coffee (but it is bad almost everywhere in Germany) No exchange is possible in French while the hotel is practically on the border.

Spacious and comfortable room

The hotel's location is undoubtedly your best base. The rest, attention, rooms, service, very normal. The breakfast is quite good, but returning to your situation is unbeatable. In 5 minutes you are in the center of this beautiful village that you cannot miss...

 Situation

We arrived in the evening in this beautiful town on the edge of the black forest, and by consulting booking.com I saw that this was the cheapest hotel. It looks like a restaurant with rooms without any pretence. Once we got into the rooms we were positively surprised. Very spacious room, clean and furnished with simplicity but with taste the bathroom was also very spacious. Breakfast was a buffet with good choice of both sweet and salty, they also have free parking and it is only 5 minutes walk from the center I would say excellent price and good location.
