My friend and i had been on the road all night and finally when we got to Parnu finding a hotel that wasn't fully booked wasn't as easy as we thought... we went into about 3 diffrent hotels and in the end found the dalfine hotel!
we got in pretty late but a full dinenr was still available and the staff at both the resaption and Restaurant were very very good and very refreshing after some not to nice hotels prior! i would highly recomend this hotel! the beds are also very comfy and the room very elegent and pretty!

I would highly RECOMEND

I stayed at the Delfine in July 2012 with a group of friends hitting the beach in Pärnu. It was OK, but there were one or two "special" features it would have been good to know about in advance. 

Nice easy one first... see the review by AveFin about the dampness in the rooms. Yes, in a brilliant master-stroke of design, the bathrooms aren't ventilated. At all. So the first room we were given had a really quite impressive amount of black mould in the shower - not just talking about bits between the tiles, this was a flourishing ecosystem all on its own. Not helped by the fact that the shower didn't actually drain, so plenty of standing water to keep it nice and damp and enhance the smell of urine and decay (yes, no drain for the tiled floor either, so nowhere for anything at all to be washed away too). 

So OK, we asked for another room and got it straight away - much nicer room, with a shower which was a bit less like a mushroom farm, and on the other side of the hotel from the entrance - quieter, lighter, better. So far so good. 

The big surprise was that this place is apparently rented by the local authority to provide residential care for geriatrics and mental patients. So you are sharing with some quite special guests. The smell of urine is pretty pervasive, you find yourself dodging wheelchairs and helping extremely elderly people on your way in and out (not so bad, that) and also watching a regular daily performance at the front desk by a very disturbed lady screaming obscenities at the reception staff, who tell her to go to her room, which she doesn't. That was different. And not quite what we signed up for. 

Well, at least it was quiet at night, and an easy walk to the beach and to the centre of town. And breakfast was OK. Not nice, but OK. And everybody was really friendly and helpful. 

The highlight was the in-house spa/massage setup, which was extremely good, and not cheap by Estonian standards but still really good value for us foreigners. 

Don't think I'll go back, though.

OK, but there are things you need to know....

Small hotel constructed in 2006. Good location in about 10 mins walk to the beach and to the downtown. Free beach very nice for small children. Free and safe parking at hotel yeard. Nice and a bit kitch rooms. No A/C that is, however, rarely a problem. Seems to have also free wireless. Strangely ONLY CASH accepted as payment at site. Nearest ATM at 10 mins walk away. Breakfast fine, no frills.

Good location

Nice and clean place with friendly reception girls. Location between the city center and the beach is excellent. Rooms were quite moist for the rest of the day after taking a shower because the only means for ventilation seemed to be the partly open window.
