Boyang Boutique Hotel

My 1 night stay here was part of the complimentary overnight hotel layover, offered by China Eastern Airlines. The hotel is located at about a 20minutes drive from Pudong International Airport, also in the Pudong district. My first impression of the hotel pretty much what I expected, which was basic. Within walking distance to the hotel, there is a seizable number of street stalls with lots of food options (no English spoken by vendors) and a minimart with basic necessities. Unfortunately, there is no metro station within walking distances. Room was spacious for a boutique hotel. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room, including the washroom and the bed linen. Wifi signal in the room was also decent, whereby I did not experience any instabilities with the signal. Staff were friendly, although they do not speak any English at all. We had to type into our phones to translate what each of us were saying. As a hotel that caters to transit passengers of China Eastern Airlines, I expected some level of basic English to be spoken/understood by the hotel staffs. A “Didi” taxi ride from the hotel to The Bund in downtown Shanghai in the middle of the night and back costed me RMB100 and RMB120 for the onward and return journey respectively. As the assigned driver to drop me off to Pudong International Airport came early in the morning at 6.45am, I wasn’t able to have the breakfast before my checkout. However, the staffs at the desk extended 2 buns and a small milk packet out of courtesy.
