Nice reception, very clean and comfortable accommodation, good breakfast, good advice from the owner on visiting and dining in the vicinity, quiet hotel, room window not very large and with no view.

Home warm impeccable cleanliness a peaceful place beautiful large room with access to a balcony soft bed impeccable littering beautiful view of the forest there is even a small path to walk around it intended owners there was even a dish with caterers in our room lunch included in the price we would have liked to stay there more than one night but there was no other availability during our vacation I recommend this place c is stunning

This is the second time I've been to this place. The first time was over 10 years ago. The new owners have managed to preserve the hotel's original appearance. It's so nice to sleep in this place in the open air. Really close to the St. Felix Zoo. The possibility of sharing the refrigerator for your food. A continental-type lunch with hard eggs for protein intake. Very competitive price versus the establishments in the area. And very warm owners!!!

Comfort, peace, cleanliness and warmth

The owner put us in a very comfortable place, and she did everything to make the children feel good too. The room was spacious, and absolutely clean! Vicky took the time to chat with her guests, which we really enjoyed.

I recently stayed 2 nights in Gite Le Refuge du Moulin d’Eau close to St-Félicien.
I can confirm: clean rooms and nice location, close to the Zoo.
I was shocked though by the attitude of our host. After the first day she told me that my family was not ‘friendly’ enough. We did not smile enough in the morning at breakfast and we did not talk a lot with the other guests. As French is not my mother tongue I was not sure I understood her well, so I repeated what she just told me. She confirmed that I did not look happy enough and she wanted her guests to be happy (“vous êtes pire que des Parisiens”). I explained her that every person has its own character and that I was not a morning person. I also explained her that it is not always easy for me to understand the Quebecois accent…
I have been traveling for 30 years in Gites, B&B, etc. all over the world. It was the first time somebody said such a thing to me. I was astonished ! No need to say that we left the next day, early in the morning – without taking breakfast (which by the way is very poor and served on throwaway cutlery; even if they claim it is 100% recyclable, it is still waist and incomprehensible for a Bed & Breakfast).
Stay away, I should say.

Very warm welcome, by an extremely friendly couple. The cottage and its surroundings are pleasant. Spacious and very clean room. Appreciative balcony and beautiful view of the forest impeccable literature. Good and friendly small lunch presented with love by Vicky or Matthew. Ideal step to visit the St. Felician's Zoo.

We can't be more welcoming.

It's a warm haven of peace in the midst of nature, it feels like home, the rooms are very clean, soundproof and very bright, breakfast is excellent, thank you Vicky for your hospitality and warm welcome, I recommend without hesitation.

The hostel is exceptional, thanks to Vicki. The rooms are impeccably clean, the room is comfortable. The breakfast shared with the hostel was excellent.

We were very well received at our stop at the Mathieu gite, where he did not hesitate to spend a lot of time advising us on tours and walks around the area. We strongly recommend this address. What good memories!
