Hostel Saint Patrick's

We booked this hostel using booking.com. There were issues finding the hostel. The phone number was incorrect. Tourist information at the airport did not know the address and Google maps wanted to send us to the wrong spot! The hostel is well located on the airport side of the, just on the left of the main road into town. We were able to park our car inside. The hostel was almost empty, so we had a choice of rooms. The tariff includes breakfast. No cereal, but the best bread rolls we tasted in Brazil, with cheese and meat, coffee, fruit and bread were available. Being Brazil, there were a few issues. We could only get hot showers in the main building....the solar did not appear to be working. The basin to a sink had no running water. A bedroom smelt musty, but you could choose another room. The roller shutter is damaged/not installed correctly, so sunlight may enter your room if you are a late riser. Uri, the new host is looking at fixing these problems. He also had good advice on tourist attractions, and booked our tour of Itaipu Dam. Uri speaks English. Free WiFi is provided....but you need to be upstairs in the lounge area to have a strong enough signal. There is a cheap Chinese restaurant over the road for lunch or dinner. We did find the hostel....but only by looking at the map given out by tourist information at the airport. They were suggesting we turn off to the right on an un-named street. We needed to turn left on the street that is named on the map.
