We were as a family (2 EW, child (1 year old) and dog) as an intermediate stop for a night at the Mair country house and we felt very comfortable. The reception by the owner was very nice, the holiday apartment on the first floor has everything you need and is very clean and well maintained. The balcony offers a great view of meadows and mountains, the garden offers very nice playground for children (schoukel, trampoline, bacholin...), a large rabbit is hopping around the house and was of course a highlight for our little son. You can walk well with the dog (if you had to go to the dog lane there was a lot of farming, our farm would, for example, chase the rabbits) and is in 10 minutes with the burner-out, the garden offers very nice playground for children (schoukel, trampolin, bacholin...), a large rabbit is hopping around the house and was a highlight for our little son.

For our summer holidays (13/08 to 02/09 2016) we stayed in an apartment of this lovely house above Gries-am-Brenner just past the Brennero. Despite the language problems, the owners, in particular Brigitte, welcomed us by putting us at ease, ready to satisfy every request to make our stay comfortable. The apartment is spacious, equipped with wi-fi, flat screen TV, kitchen equipped with everything, microwave oven, toast Leo, washoviglie... in short! There is a large balcony with table, chairs and sofa and a wonderful mountain overlooking the house.

Holidays in Tyrol

Just past the Brenner Pass in Austria is a lovely house with a two bedroom apartment and a studio apartment.  We had the studio with house barns all around. A sparkling snow- fed stream just out back and a very gracious hostess. We were there in the snow for two days. So beautiful - smoke from the chimneys, little black goats on the mountainside, a wonderful dinner at the nearby Hotel Hummler, mountain peaks in all directions, "Sound of Music" setting. Internet, no English TV, no breakfast. A wonderful, quiet time to remember.

We rented the "Familienapartment", very spacious, comfortable and clean. There is a fully equipped kitchen (no microwave) and a spacious bathroom with both a bathtub and a seperate shower. There is a big balcony with table and chairs. 

We were travelling with our 8 month old baby who could safely crawl in the living area as power pluggs were all secured. He loved seeing the cows and pigs being fed and the trucks passing by on the Brenner Pass-highway... We must admit that the beautiful views are a bit spoiled by the highway (you don't hear a thing, though). 

The apartment is in a big house about 10 minutes by car from Gries-am-Brenner. If you're looking for après-ski, this is not the place to be. It's also a 10 minute drive from Steinach where you'll find 3 supermarkets and other shops. 

The nearest skiing-area is Bergeralm in Steinach. As we were travelling with our baby, we didn't ski but there is still a lot to see and do in winter. We've visited Innsbruck and Vitipeno (Sterzing) and Bolzano in Italy, did some hiking and some "rodeln" (there is even a small "rodelbahn" in front of the house).
 
The owners are a young, friendly and helpfull couple with two children. They can offer a babysitting-service if you wish. Fresh milk from the cows every day!
