It's a very cheap hostel, and probably best for a night or two, the attention is very good, the kitchen with everything necessary, it doesn't have many other amenities but enough if you're going by.

Hostel Economico is located here.

It's a hostel, which has a good price; economical.We use a room for three people with a simple breakfast.The people who serve it are friendly.

HOSTEL AL PASO is located in Passo.

The good: 
Close to supermarket, few blocks away from the bus station (up to 10 minutes walk)
Good kitchen and a big refrigerator, microwave and oven.

The worst: 
Room of 4 + Room of 8 people, but both rooms share a single bathroom and shower.
Depends on the receptionist that is currently working you might get reasonable help or sometimes no help but all have very poor English.
E.g. Can I rent a car to get to Punta Tombo? ANS: "I don't know..."
Place is generally not maintained well and looks kinda dirty.
WiFi works 70% of the time

The bad:
Shower has low pressure and approx 5 spray holes and feels dirty, even the curtain was not replaced in ages and looks dirty.
Locker might be placed very high, mine started at a height of 1.8 meters, higher than me... so it was hard putting my stuff there.
No air conditioning so it is very hot in the summer (Dec for me)

Not advisable

The attention is good but the place is very dirty. I'm just going to spend one night, if I had to stay longer I'd change places. The saunas and mantas look very old.

The cleanliness shines because of its absence.

Looking for hostels in Trelew this was the only one I found. It is located about 4 blocks from the bus terminal. It is quite familiar with the particularity that it is the type of hostel that has guests who stay long because they work or do some activity in the area. The treatment is quite good, they help you with everything they can and the relationship is quite familiar. The facilities are basic and the loose end is the breakfast that is most basic. So little can be asked for much because the price is quite reasonable.

I need to spend a few days.

We stayed here for 2 nights as we wanted to visit gaiman and to see the Penguins at punta tombo. It's a family run place which works very well. We really enjoyed our time here.

Good points:
-a varied breakfast which was different each day (1 day it was croissants & bread pudding and another day it was bread and jam with cereal)
-a homely relaxed atmosphere with games, dining area and a hammock
-lovely warm clean showers 
-really nice friendly and helpful staff who helped book us transport to see the penguins (750 pesos each person) and fix my broken adaptor 
-very close to the bus station and right next to a large supermarket 

Bad points:
-the wifi wasn't very quick and didn't stretch to the bedroom but it did work ok 

We'd definitely stay again 

Lovely staff 

I've been working in Trelew and I'm staying in this hostel.The facilities are simple, according to the price. the attention of the excellent staff, very kind people and willing to make you feel very comfortable.The only negative thing about this place is that there are times when the children of one of the owners run, scream, play and you can't rest.

Hostel Familiar!!

We are travelling around South America as a late twenties/early thirties couple and we stayed in Hostel El Agora in a private room. We stayed 2 nights which to be honest was 2 nights too many.
The main problem with this hostel was that it was filthy. Food is everywhere, on the floors, on the work surfaces and we even found some stale bread/biscuit on the floor in our room. Therefore no surprise there were flies EVERYWHERE. 
The furnishings in the hostel are very old, dated and in some cases falling apart. 
Staff were friendly enough but gave us no information on check in and simply presented us with our key. 
Towels aren't included but can be rented for an extra 15 pesos per person. 
It's a noisy hostel as the sound travels through the paper thin walls but that said people were considerate and the noise tapered off around midnight. 
It was bearable to stay here two nights whilst we awaited our transfer to Ushuaia but we wished we'd stayed an extra night in Puerto Madryn instead.

A very average hostel, the dirtiest we've come across, would recommend seeking an alternative

- beds so soft you can't sleep - windows that let the noise of the street through - a fan that makes noise - the next occupant who comes into the room at 8:00 in the morning - a frugal breakfast but the wifi works well and the water is hot

Affordable but expect to

Small and friendly, nicely located and with a good kitchen all for a very fair price. Mix of locals and foreign travellers, mainly using it as a quick overnight stop before an early flight the next day, but could easily be used as a base for exploring the area.
