Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely ensuite bathroom. Location is brilliant - about a 20 metre walk and you’re on the Old Course!! Parking was easy and free nearby. Be aware that, quite typically of St Andrew’s, there is no lift so make sure you’re up to climbing stairs and also getting your luggage up and down yourself! Staff were friendly, breakfast was excellent. Definitely recommend!!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had every comfort including a hairdryer, straighteners and mini fridge with delicious cocktails. Breakfast was included and they let me takeaway breakfast for my sleepy teen.

We arrived early but the team was glad to let us check in. The breakfasts were so delicious. We loved the decor throughout!

Rooms are a bit small and not accessible but otherwise an amazing property. So close to The Old Course!!!

Incredibly close to the Old Course. Wonderful breakfast and welcome cookies! Small but very efficient. Tucked away gem.

We loved staying at the Haar. The room was perfect - with a view of East Sands from the window (and if the Open hadn't been on, you'd have seen the top of the fairway too). It was very comfortable and every single detail had been thought of - there was a fan, hair straightener and hairdryer, complimentary shortbread and still and sparkling water, TV with streaming services, minifridge stocked with gin and tonic and pre-mixed cocktails, and wonderful toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion - which so many hotels neglect to provide all of). The staff were very friendly. Breakfast is included in the booking which we weren't 100% clear about but make sure to take advantage as its wonderful! We had eggs benedict and eggs royale, both of which were delicious - not too big but a perfect breakfast portion, and we both also had lovely fresh squeezed orange juice and iced coffees. Will highly recommend staying here to anyone else wishing to go as location is wonderful and stay incredibly comfortable.

Perfect stay in St Andrews

Amazing location, incredible views. The staff were absolutely amazing! Very sweet and welcoming! Also has the most amazing dinner there. Highly recommend. The only downside, was the room was warm, but we can’t complain too much as we were in Scotland with gorgeous warm weather. There was a Dyson Fan, but we just weren’t use to no AC.

Tough climb up narrow winding staircase. Rooms were drafty and very tight.

Haar with rooms is excellent choice right on the 18th green of Old Course. Only downside amid the joy of being in St.Andrews and the town, is the room size. If that is issue for you, stay somewhere else. Apart from that, wonderful!!
