Wonderful place, friendly staff. Roast was amazing (they charged extra for duo of meats without telling us but was worth it tbh) 

Cannot fault any of the roast dinner and would definitely recommend to friends and family after a walk around the woods

My friend and I visited for the first time last night and we were not disappointed. The quality of the food was fantastic with really fresh and some quirky ingredients. Fortunately, the restaurant was fairly quiet and the tables are spaced out. It was a lovely ambience and we had the added bonus of a live band playing soft folk music. We will definitely return with our respective families

Every time I come to this place I am never disappointed .

It was actually March 2022 when we first ate here (other than pizza outside) Peter is a great host who works hard to provide the best! We went with a party of friends (our wedding breakfast) and even today I still get people telling me it was the best food and ambiance they have ever known at a wedding. The place is not massive, your not going to seat 150! The only negative thing I have ever heard for the place is they book up quick, so get booked ASAP.

Looking for a place to stay for a group of 4 playing golf around the Mansfield area (Coxmoor, Sherwood Forest and Hollinwell), we discovered this really great B&B in Blidworth, The Black Bull. 

4 rooms at just £75 per person per night with an excellent English breakfast, the stay here was a delight. Add to this a very popular real ale bar area and a great restaurant and in our opinion, there is nothing else you could ask for. 

We would certainly recommend it to any small group of golfers visiting the area. Elaine the host was excellent.

Friday night and we were hoping for the pizza but it was not available so we settled for the home made burger and beef dripping chips. WOW. Rivals my husbands for the best burger ever and the chips……. The best chips in the world. 
We also had breakfast Saturday and Sunday.  The full English hits the spot. Tasty sausages, perfectly cooked black pudding and the most amazing hash browns I’ve ever had. The eggs Benedict was one of the best I’ve had and very generous too.
Definitely recommend.

Visited with friends and the service was friendly and attentive. The food was all tasty and good value for what we had. The scotch egg starter was great albeit substantial for a starter. Our friend had the steak which was perfectly cooked medium rare with excellent chips. The vegetarian food was also well enjoyed.

My friend Jo and I stayed here last weekend as we were going to a party in the next village. I must admit I have stayed in high class places before and this place came up there with them.
From booking our stay to leaving, we couldn’t have had better service, the staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are clean and airy, the bed enormous and comfy, and the breakfast was delicious, all locally sourced food.
We cant thank Elaine and her staff enough for making our stay so memorable. Both Jo and I have said we will make it an annual trip even if there isn’t a party to go to.

Four adults met up for a catch-up over a relaxed lunch at The Black Bull. Service was faultless from welcome drinks to the final coffee. All our dishes were tasty, well thought out, and beautifully presented on artisan plates. Although this venue is listed as a Bed and Breakfast, it's really a very accomplished bar and restaurant with rooms  - well worth considering for a meal any time of the day.

We visited the Black Bull in Blidworth on the 7th of August with my family for my birthday and we had the most amazing food, staff so friendly and helpful and the prices were so good for such high quality dishes. Everything was perfect. Lovely pub, great staff and fantastic food! Thankyou so much kaye and family.

Great Quality Food and Good Service

Did us proud!

Had a wonderful lunch with friends at The Black Bull.
We shared some delicious small plates which were on a 4 for 3 deal, followed by sandwiches and lots of chips! The ploughman’s and beetroot salad were exceptional! 
We were a bit of an awkward table, making changes to the dishes and ordering things that weren’t on the menu but the waitresses that served us were fantastic and we all commented that this was the best service we had received for quite a while.
I must mention that some of our “awkward” requests were due to the lack of vegan options on the menu. The kitchen did offer some options not on the menu but you might want to check beforehand if you have a vegan in your party.
Lovely afternoon and will be back soon for one of their delicious roast dinners.

A local gem!

Decided to make use of the 50% of Eat Out to Help Out scheme to try out a new place. We had a brilliant meal, really surprisingly high quality for the look as it looks just like a normal little pub! We had the bread starter which seemed to be homemade bread with tasty accompaniments (pesto, goats cheese and butter). I had the steak with onion rings, salad and chips and my partner had the burger with chips and coleslaw - both of us really enjoyed our meals and couldn't finish the chips because there were so many and they were so thick! We shared the banana pudding and the fudge chocolate brownie for dessert and they were both really impressive in presentation and in flavour. Really set this place apart from similar places! We would definitely go back, it cost £30 with the £20 off including drinks for the 3 course meal! We were really pleased with our experience!
