Room is very clean, staff are very friendly and helpful, room is spacious (much bigger than it looks in the photos), bed is very comfortable (I have sciatica so this is a must, woke up in the morning with no pain), unexpectedly quiet as my room is in the front, great wifi, smoking area at the front much appreciated! I really liked the look of the rooms from the photos as it made me think of star trek and I was not disappointed 😆
(The blanket on the bed is mine 😆)

Visited family and felt too tired to get on the motorway to drive home so booked a room at Zip. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room. Tiny but perfectly formed! Comfortable bed, lovely pillows and duvet, warm room, power shower, wifi and tv. Vending machine for snacks and drinks. I arrived after midnight but there is a bar and a decent selection of meals if needed. Breakfast offer for £4.50 was good. I had a hot chocolate and a veggie sausage brioche bap served with a smile. No window in the room I was in so there was a lightbox instead! Loved that as it was a good option to use instead of the bright room lights. No kettle in room but didn't bother me. Ironing room down the hall. Towels in room and Baylis&Harding toiletries. Very minimalist feel to the room  which felt good. Lobby/lounge/ bar area has wide screen tv and an area where yoy can sit and use laptop etc. Everything I needed and the low level lighting and chilled background music was perfect for me.

Zip is great, it's compact, clean and the staff were particularly good. The value for money is outstanding, we had a great stay, it was everything myself and my partner needed for quality time with each other. We will be back again soon to stay.

Look, as a field service engineer I stay in hotels 100+ nights a year and would normally stay in the regular Premier Inn's so I hope this has some relevance not only to us service engineers but the traveling public in general. Thought I would give it a punt, hell, life's about trying new things eh? I wish to God they had these kind of facilities everywhere I stay in the UK. OK, know it is not everyone's cup of tea but come on, space age (Space 1999 - early Star Trek, 2001 A Space Odyssey  el at) accommodation, real friendly (it's Premier Inn fer Christs sake!) and a price that just might convince me to leave the family and live like this FOREVER .... ! I am over egging it, but I loved it. I'm 60+ and if this is the future I'm sold. Sick of staid hotels with an almost "we're doing you a favour" attitude. Go on, give it a try, it's what your children are going on about. Loads of sockets, USB  charging points and great surroundings. the staff wanna help, there's a bar with enough choice, basic food yes, but walking (staggering ... ) distance from most foodie outlets. Me, McLovin it!

The staff were lovely and welcoming. The reception/bar area is very inviting and great to sit in with your friends. Also got back at 2am with food and drinks still being served!
The room was fine once you got over not having a window, but there is aircon which helps!
The beds were comfy and it was silent even being NYE! 
Great night sleep with a good check out of 12pm!

Exactly what we needed, clean, modern, efficient, friendly with an excellent hot shower. Quick & easy to book & check in. Very welcoming helpful staff. All for an incredible price. Good location with plenty of free parking. 

Easy to find, free parking, convenient for getting in to Cardiff city, great helpful friendly staff, very comfortable bed, good linen and towels, plenty of sockets and one near a mirror, most high end hotels don't provide, quiet, large  social space, bar, seating, TV.  Wifi better in bar area 

Small but beautifully formed rooms, with all you need for a comfortable night, comfy bed, power shower, quiet room. Friendly staff. Great location. Free parking for small work van. Complimentary tea and coffee on arrival. 

Using as a base for a ngiht out in the city, affordable taxi into the centre from the hotel with plenty of safe parking to leave the car over night. Room was basic but had everything needed to leave belongings and have a peaceful night sleep.

If you want a cosy romantic getaway this hotel isn’t for you. If you want a basic overnight stop for a night out this is the place. Cheap accommodation. Everything was clean and well presented in reception area. Rooms are basic. “Bunkerbin” but inside. Some of the rooms don’t have windows, just a light so shine soft lighting in a window shape. There is a shower, toilet, sink, bed and tv in your room. Nothing else no kettle or rubbish bin. Just laminated flooring, no carpet. Everything was clean, staff were polite and pleasant 👍🏻 free parking as well 👍🏻

Does what it says on the tin

If you’re looking for just a basic room and bed for the night this is perfect. I was hesitant about trying the zip but fully converted. The rooms are small but this is expect for such a decent price. I paid £43 for one night with free parking. The beds are on the slight small size hence not full 5 stars. Me and a friend stayed here. Make the most of under the bed for storage and a shelf about the bed. The bathroom is very small. But powerful shower.
Ubers are pretty cheap to get into the city centre as well. Also drinks and snacks at the food are decent. I’ve booked my booking in march from central to here due to the price and quality.

Zip - you will not regret your decision

Cheap and cheerful. Friendly staff. My partner and I booked accessible room 7 for a work trip. It was great for our needs. It would have been better if the water could drain in the wet room. It was uncomfortable to crawl through that in the night.
I took a kettle and the staff kindly lend me a mug to make tea. The room would benefit from a chair as we need to sit down to take our legs off!
I would be happy to return though.

Bob on, for the money!

For a one night stopover it’s perfect. Yes, the room is small, single beds, toilet close to bed and all that, but if you are just laying your head down for a night what more do you want? Staff are great, decent glass of red and the foods good. Got to drive through the leisure centre to get to the parking, but that’s free which is a pleasant bonus. For what you pay, and what you expect, it’s perfect. Been twice, will go again.

One night in Cardiff? This is perfect.

Surprised with how comfortable the room was. Clean, simple and cosy. I did miss not making a cuppa in the room, maybe some hot drinks vending machines on each floor would be a good idea.
The shower took a little while to drain, this was the only problem. The shows itself was lovely!
Would definitely return. Good location for city centre and Cardiff bay.
