we stayed in room 236 nice sea view room very nicely refurbished  hotel and nice bar 
 hotel staff are very helpful very good, location  beach  is very nice and morning  full English  breakfast hot excel lend ,we will come back again.

We stayed in room 110. Breakfast was nice table survive. Lovely stay staff was very helpful. Bar and bedroom are fully refurbished. Thank you all for lovely day.

We have stayed here before as it is handy for where we need to be, But this year the hotel has been much improved the staff seem to have a new lease of life and couldn't do enough for us and the newly refurbed rooms are brilliant

We've stayed here before and were expecting budget accommodation, and were amazed when we entered our room. We had a huge luxury room with a remote controlled log effect fireplace, sunken television with Internet apps, and a full waterfall shower and side shower in the bathroom. Views were across the bay and beach. Everything inside the hotel is new and done to a great standard. Onsite bar and restaurant also highly recommended and served us excellent food. We will be returning!

I stayed last night. I was massively impressed. Newly refurbished, the room was finished to a high standard. Good quality linen, large flat screen tv and lovely fitted fire 🔥. Longsands beach and Tynemouth park view.
Breakfast was continental and a cooked option. Lots of choice, good quality coffee.
I had worked in the bar there some 20 + years ago whilst at university, before the original take over. The hotel was truly awful and as such the reviews were very poor.
Now, however, it’s so pleasing to see the new owners/management have really worked so hard to turn this place around. I was very, very surprised! A HUGE WELL DONE.
A few little niggles, but the place still has work to do. Still 5 stars from me. 

Lots of choice on lunch menu, catering for a wide range of tastes. The chicken fajitas were delicious and I did struggle to eat the whole lunch as it could have served 2 people! Excellent service and prices.

I am a regular visitor to the Salt Cove. The food,service and views over the coastline are second to none. Cannot praise the standard of the meals enough. Another beautiful lunch today. The sunday lunches are also always delicious and of the highest quality including superb  enormous yorkshire pudding !

2nd visit here to the Park Hotel, the refurbishments are looking fabulous, our room 106 was so welcoming and spacious, decorated tastefully. The bar area is relaxed and cosy , again the decor is looking great, breakfast was the best! All fresh ingredients, nice selection. 

The hotel has put a lot of money and effort into the reburbishment and I look forward to seeing the changes again next year when we visit.

Was a bit wary of booking when I read some of the review comments but was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel has been recently refurbished and done very nicely. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and very nicely fitted out. A sea view from our bedroom window was a nice touch. Breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary but everything nicely cooked and all tastes catered for. Parking was free and the hotel was located in a nice area, a manageable walk to the main restaurant area, not quite central but taxis were readily available if the walk was considered too far. All in all, a very pleasant and comfortable hotel.

Hubby and I booked direct with the Hotel for two nights, Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th of September 2019. Free parking is always a plus! As I noticed a lot of hotels in the area and surrounding area are ‘self park’, which can leave you a bit stuck at times, or sometimes more costly. So free parking was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful, efficient and informative too. The room was really lovely, with a big tv and even a lovely fire (log affect) which would be romantic in the winter. We could even see the sea from our room. Tea & coffee Facilities with complimentary biscuits (which we actually refrained from eating?!) also complimentary shampoo, body wash etc etc The breakfast was more than adequate, plenty to choose from, fruit, yoghurt, toast, full English eg fried eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon nice and crispy, sausages, black pudding (which is hard to come by these days) plum cooked tomatoes, baked beans, to name just a few! Fresh orange juice, tea including speciality teas, coffee, absolutely loads of choice! The breakfast area is really lovely with a wonderful big window. The refurbishment so far is looking really good! The new owners are really pulling out all the stops! Good luck to them, they truly deserve to do well!

Stayed here for a business trip and very happy with the room and service. The general standard was higher of everything was higher than hotels of a comparable price (best western,etc) . very impressed with all the staff I encountered and the breakfasts were huge!So big in fact on my second morning I asked for a smaller amount. In the evening I met a friend for a drink and was very reassured by the covid secure practices, tables were booked and you got table service. I really hope this business survives the coming hard winter as they deserve it.

Great stay -would stay again.

Fab Hotel

This Art Deco hotel has plenty parking and 2 disabled places and ramp into the hotel and lots of rooms are facing the sea though some are at the back where the train lines run. Our room was on the side facing towards the town but had a lovely sea view which is great for watching the surfers etc., There is a roundabout on that side too so expect some traffic noise in the morning. Also The Lost world Dinosaur golf is near and the interesting bird and dinosaur noises could be heard from our room but only in the day which was fine. We asked for an extra chair as there was only one and though the TV had issues the staff quickly remedied this. There was only one side table by the bed but the decoration was new and everything was clean. Some important issues were that there were no towel rails or hand rails or bath mat in the bathroom which was a decent size. Tea, Coffee and biscuits were provided as well as shampoos and shower gel each day. The breakfast in the Salt Cove restaurant/bar was good and we had two meals before 5.30 which were very reasonably priced and the staff helpful especially Jackie on reception. Thank you we really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful location

We stayed in one of the refurbished rooms. Only down side was train noise from 6am. The room whilst cleanish was pretty dusty so would suggest housekeeping focus on the detail. Food and staff were all excellent.
