This excellent boutique hotel and its outstanding restauarnt are now permanently closed. A previous TA poster suggested that the cancellation of their reservation through Booking.com was unprofessional. If they had bothered to check the hotels website they'd have seen the annoucment of its permanet closure. The wonderful couple who ran this bussiness have lost their livelhood and their home. So a little sympathy wouldn't have gone amiss.

I decided to book for my partners birthday and it did not disappoint.
The food was delicious and the service was fantastic, worth every penny! 

My partner also asked me to marry him outside the beautiful property as we left. It will always be a place we can visit in the future!

On arriving and being shown to our upgraded room, we felt relaxed.  A beautiful setting, even on this miserable day.  Food was excellent, although my main course could have been hotter.  Breakfast first class.  Friendly and helpful staff, nothing too much trouble.

I found this place on the internet and decided to stop here on our way to Cornwall for the weekend. What a find, beautiful old Manor House in a stunning country location. Our room was upgraded to a lovely room almost the size of a football pitch! Stunning ceiling large four poster, slipper bath and large shower.

Dinner was first class absolutely no complaints. Two dining rooms which are small and cosy with a lovely living room with fire. Whilst not cheap it isn’t outrageously expensive- definitely worth a visit, we will be back.

My fiancé and I had the kitchen table on sat 5th Oct. 
quite possibly the best south west food experience we have ever had. 
This is no ordinary restaurant, this is on a very different level indeed. 
The staff are so attentive and the ambiance is really quite exceptional. 
Our experience at the kitchen table was beyond what we expected, the interaction between Ollie, Matt and George was not only informative but also on a level whereby humour and interaction became second nature. 
A huge thank you to everyone and we will be back. 
Bloody well done Ollie. You are not only a credit to your industry but a very real gem to us foodies, I raise a glass to you and your staff.

We have been looking to find a restaurant with wonderful food and also a seasonal menu .We had been recommended The Langford and it came up to all we were told .It was a surprise for by husbands birthday ,and  it is a seasonal menu.Not a large menu, menu,starters-main-desserts and four choices on each .Each dish is cooked to order, local ingredients or veg grown in there own garden .The service is just first class as is the setting of The Langford ,and the price of a three course meal is £45.00 with drinks and coffee extra.Will we be going again oh yes ,we are so looking forward to the change of menu for the next season, with hope that they will have pheasant on the menu which is a firm favourite of mine.

This is a beautifully modernised manor house with lovely grounds. It is a restaurant with rooms and the focus is on the fabulous food. The rooms are lovely and comfortable and in our room a small fortune had been spent on the woodwork and in the bathroom. Excellent breakfast with local ingredients - including home smoked salmon. The location is lovely and peaceful in the middle of the country - it also has excellent wi-fi.

A beautiful and peaceful manor house which is set in lovely grounds, with a relaxed and casual feel. The food was faultless and the service impeccable. It was £45 for three courses, with canapés to start and petit fours with the coffee. It was well worth it! 

Went with friends to celebrate my 48th birthday and it was a perfect evening from start to finish. Firstly totally lovely food on every level and perfect service, attentive but also casual and the whole setting just charming. Really enjoyed our evening here and couldn’t recommend highly enough 

We have dined at the Langford several times. It is simply excellent in every aspect. The setting on the edge of a Somerset village surrounding by rolling countryside is ideal for walks and cycle rides and many of the county's attractions are not far way. The beautiful manor house has been sensitively restored. The rooms are luxuriously and beautifully  re-furbished. One is greeted as an honoured guest welcomed into a home. There is no air of snobbery or superciliousness about the place. The food is outstanding. An excellent place to stay or for lunch or dinner.

WHAT A FIND

Fabulous food - fabulous location

My friends and I visited the Langford for dinner and booked the Kitchen Table which was a lovely treat.  This place is in an amazing location with a beautiful setting and on the fabulous night it was, it was fantastic to have drinks on the lawn before embarking on our 5 course tasting menu.  Before my review I would like to state that we are real foodies.  It was lovely meeting Ollie, Matt and Danny before we started eating and it was a treat to watch them cooking the food in a calm and amazingly clean kitchen.  How do you cook for 35 covers and not have pots and pans all over the place.  Ollie explained how he chose the dishes and he is guided by the vegetables in season.  Our menu was centred on asparagus and we started with asparagus and a slow cooked egg.  All of the eggs were cooked slightly differently and mine was overcooked without a runny yolk.  As it happens I am not fond of eggs but did not know this was going to be accompanying the asparagus otherwise I would have told them.  I did leave the egg but was not asked why?  Strange.  However, one of my favourite courses was served next - salt cod which resembled fish as in fish and chips and this was well cooked and tasty.  The most disappointing of the courses however was the beef.  This is cooked in a water bath and tasted of nothing.  The beef was a lovely cut but I thought it needed searing and seasoning.  The plating however looked lovely.  The next two courses were favourites, i.e. cheese and a strawberry plate with sorbet, gel, mousse, strawberries etc and this really was the piece de resistance for us all.  Would I return, yes I probably would and the Kitchen Table is a fantastic experience, but we felt it needed a little tweaking.  However, the chefs are professional and work very hard.

After spending 3 nights at Langford Fiveheads, we can say that we found it delightful.
The informality, great service, beautiful house and gardens, the exceptionally good food all made our stay an absolute pleasure. The dinner choice and quality was outstanding as it was for breakfast. A combination of attributes difficult to beat.

Casual but splendid

This was our fourth visit to the Langford and it gets better every time!  What a glorious location and a fabulous dinner. Thank you so much for giving us a great time. The menu offers the perfect choice of courses, both of us having the trio of lamb as a main. Although not a great pudding eater I had the chocolate delice with salted caramel ice cream and honeycomb - wow!!! Looks like I will be a pudding convert now!
