The Golden Ball is everything you’d expect from a country pub.  Comfortable, quiet, welcoming and good breakfast.

No complaints whatsoever food good friendly staff clean room

nice quiet area with everything needed, which included a fridge. Nice touch with the snack in the room, which was not expected. Friendly owners. Will come again if in the area.

Wonderful room with everything you need.  Atmosphere and food and service at the pub was fantastic. Made a very special night perfect. Breakfast was also lovely next morning . Thank you 😊

A very pleasant stay. Good room size which was in good condition with all the amenities you would expect. Large comfortable bed and an excellent power shower. Good quality tea/coffee with branded chocs which was a nice touch. Very friendly welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was excellent, tasty, large portions and reasonably priced. Wide choice of breakfast options. Will stay there again if in the area.

Delightful small country hotel with bags of character and warm, welcoming staff.Delicious breakfasts and evening meal and we found our room and bathroom very well furnished and clean.We can certainly recommend the Golden Ball- ideal for visits to Cambridge. We hope to make a return visit before too long.

A very pleasant stay

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. The pub is closed Monday and Tuesday so it was not obvious how we would get into the place. Luckily, I remembered getting an email with a phone number. The phone was answered immediately and the owner appeared moments later to let us into the building. He was very friendly and recommended an amazing Indian restaurant where we could eat (Lalbagh in Bourn, amazing!)The accommodation was comfortable and quiet although a little dated and would benefit from freshening up however, everything worked and the shower was fantastic. A good night's sleep and a decent shower suits me. The final piece of the jigsaw was breakfast which was equally decent; gourmet, no, but fresh and cooked perfectly.

Superb for a visit to Cambridge.

My visit was lovely and really enjoyed the place. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, lots of character in the pub itself and plenty of options for food. Breakfast was included and the food was brilliant.The room was clean, tidy and a very comfortable bed and pillows. The only bad thing that I found was that noise travelled across the rooms/building at times which meant that it was quite noisy. However, at night it was quite. So may need to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper and affected by noise!Otherwise it was a lovely place and I enjoyed my stay. Will be staying there again in the future!

Lovely place in a lovely little village

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean comfortable and good value for money. Food was great and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was lovely and accomodating of choice if wanted.Throughly recommended a stay here. Sarah the host was really friendly and helpful.  Will definitley return as soon as possible.

A great place to stay!

We had visited the property before and was impressed. The second visit can sometimes be disappointing but for this property the standard had not changed. For a round-robin tour of four hotels for this trip - it was the best of them all.Clean - made most welcome - great food and most importantly excellent value for money.We will return again

Brilliant place and value for money

This trip was made in some trepidation, due to COVID-19. The whole establishment was not only spotlessly managed but rules and social distancing practiced.Really felt secure, clean and safe.On top of this the room was very acceptable, the evening meal was very good food and the breakfast was excellent.Will return again.

COVID-19 AWARE HOTEL

Located in a lovely little village, with the only noise being the twittering of birds, the rooms are clean and have everything you need.  One of the best bits of staying here is the food, we had evening meal and breakfast which were very good - you do not come away feeling hungry! this was my second time here and it won't be the last.

A lovely B&B with staff that are helpful, pleasant and do a great job! The property is outside the village a little further from Cambridge than I intended but I didn’t mind because it was so nice. My room was very spacious and well appointed. The parking was easy whenever I had to park. The breakfast was fantastic - lots of choices - and dinner in the restaurant was just as good. I would stay here again!

Lovely food and friendly staff.  We stayed overnight as had early appointment at Papworth Hospital.  Room & en-suite were good, bed comfy and lovely view over fields (it snowed whilst we were there so very pretty).  The only downside was the room above had very squeaky floorboards.  Luckily the person above didn’t walk around all night so we had a good nights sleep.  Cooked breakfast was good and set us up for the day.  Would definitely stay there again.
