Booked myself and my black Labrador in for 3 nights.  Spacious room, nice decor and very clean.  Comfy bed with plenty of pillows.  The full English breakfast was spot on with good quality items.  (Thank you Ben).  All the staff were engaging and very helpful.  Great value for money!Would highly recommend this place and will definitely stay again should I be down that way again.

Like an American motel but with British pub and breakfast. Very comfortable and dog friendly.

Great place to stay. Parking for our motorbikes right out side the rooms. Food is amazing. Rooms are very nice with excellent shower ! Outside seating area, great beer and nice staff. Highly reccomended

For the price I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of this room. It was clean and spacious, with basic TV and tea/coffee facilities. Exactly what I was after.

Excellent!

We stayed here overnight for a friend’s 60th nearby. The area is quiet but we knew that already as we had visited with those friends on a number of occasions. It was close to Blyton’s Ice Cream with a vast array of delicious homemade ice creams to choose from, and a lovely little tea room around the corner called Tiffin’s. We managed a lovely walk around the village in sunshine too. Very enjoyable stay, lovely evening meal. The only downside (for us) was the overpowering smell of bleach in the room but, for one night it was manageable, and we at least knew the bathroom was spotlessly clean. Lovely hot shower. Room felt a little dark even with all the lamps on. Could do with a brighter bulb in the main room. Plenty of PowerPoints for charging.

Great value for money.Excellent quality accommodation in what appeared to be a purpose built single storey building adjacent to the main pub / hotel, with a 'terrace' of adjacent rooms.I had my own entrance door off the rear car park area with a room so large you could almost live out of it (ensuite shower room and a sofa also as well as plenty of storage for clothes).Great pub with good food and large selection of beers, etc and plenty of secure parking to rear.

One night stay at the Black Horse

Really nice venue with helpful staff, only thing that is stopping me giving a full 5 stars was that it was busy and hardly any staff on. That's as bad as it got though, cracking food, good selection of beers especially the local Bateman's was excellent. Well deserved pay on the back, I remember this place from years back and it's been refurbished to an extremely high standard.

Great pub 

I've stayed here a few times over the years and never been disappointed. 
There are 6 very spacious rooms which are separate from the pub and located on the car park.
The food here is also very good and well priced, served by lovely staff who do their best to accommodate.
Only down side is breakfast doesn't start until 8:30 which can be awkward for business travellers. But if this isn't going to be a problem for you I would definitely recommend The Black Horse, it's fantastic value for money.
I hope to be returning soon.

Great value for money

We stayed in room two which is accessed from the car park. The room was spacious with a sofa, twin beds and bathroom. It was all very clean but cold and took a while to warm up using the air heater, the bathroom remained cold unfortunately as the heated towel rail did not come on. The sofa was poorly placed as you would then have your back to the tv but otherwise the room was well appointed, clean and comfortable.  Breakfast was decent next morning in the pub.
We also ate in the pub which was very busy. The food was good apart from the garlic mushrooms which were very greasy. Staff were pleasant and attentive.

Pleasant room , good value for money

Went to the Black Horse for a meal with my family, excellent service was provided throughout by one of the waitresses who was very friendly and looked after us all the time. The food was amazing as well couldn’t have asked for a better meal, big portions and at a very good price as well. Overall a great experience.

Excellent Service and Great Food

I stayed at the Black Horse inn with my working dog Hagen. The staff were excellent, polite and friendly the accommodation is of a high quality with everything that you need. The pub serves a wide range of reasonably priced high quality meals. The Black Horse Inn is the best dog friendly accommodation I have stayed in. Hagen also agrees 🐾!!

Best dog friendly accommodation we’ve ever stayed in!

We had one night in one of the comfortable chalets at the Black Horse. Both dinner and breakfast were excellant. We were there on a business trip and the room would have benefitted from a desk and power socket for the laptop. The Black Horse is very close to the Blyton Ice Cream Parlour which is well worth a visit.

What a superb pub the Black Horse is, very friendly staff who explained about the food being served and that each meal is cooked fresh so not 'fast food". Our friends arrived and received another warm welcome.  Food was delicious and plentiful, and reasonably priced, again the staff were courtious and visited our table numerous times to ask if we required more drinks . The menu was much to my liking so will have to return to sample other meals - definitely recommend the black horse
