We loved this hotel, the staff were amazing and always went out of their way to help, the food was fabulous and so were the views.

Short notice booking at 7pm on Sunday 10th August. Arrived at 7.30 great welcome and even more so for the dog. Our holiday accommodation had let us down so we had food in cold bags which the staff kindly stored in their fridges. Lovely food and great friendly staff. Room was comfy and big and quiet. Great breakfast. Totally recommend the Wolfscastle. Our second visit,  last one in 2019.

This hotel is worth the trip for the food alone. Truly sublime tempura prawns. 
Great welcome and the staff were so kind about my son who was in hospital at the time. Great service too. Room was pleasant and contained everything needed. Would thoroughly recommend.

Booked a double room and dining at the bistro for the evening.a lovely relaxing ambiance in the whole hotel service was fabulous the menu was very varied and the food was outstanding so well prepared and delicious we have eaten and stayed here many times and love the experience every time

We stayed one night a bit last minute. The manager was very helpful on the phone. We arrived to a nice room, little parcel for our dog of a ball, treats and poo bags, very thoughtful! We had booked to eat dinner in the restaurant with our dog. We ordered the Chateaubriand, which was OK. We’ve had better. The meat wasn’t the best, cut too thin and one sauce wasn’t sauce more like paste. However despite that, the waitresses were very good, polite etc. We had free parking which is a bonus and streaming worked on the TV. Busy hotel, lots going on, but a great little stopover. Just some feedback for the chef on Chateaubriand..

And it's the little things, we've become so close to a few staff now, and it's always lovely to be welcomed back by them even if we love just up the road!

I'm sure we visited a lot in December, 2 Christmas parties, a spa visit and afternoon tea, for hubby's birthday with the best massage I have ever encountered, festive lunch with a friend, and now again in January celebrating our father in laws birthday on yhe 13th of jan who's sadly passed 2 years ago, that was the reason for our get together yesterday and we couldn't have asked for better!

Went for lunch on New Year’s Day with friends, it was absolutely fantastic, both the food and service outstanding. 
Excellent wine list too

We had the most lovely Christmas Day dinner here.  It was beautifully organised and not over-crowded so we enjoyed the background buzz but weren't able to hear conversations on other tables.  It gave a really good atmosphere with the festive background music too.  The food was delicious and there was a lot of it.  The waiting staff were friendly and attentive.  All in all, it was excellent value for money and we've been recommending it to our local friends too for next year!

I have to say, I highly recommend wolf castle county hotel. Our accommodation was absolutely exquisite, our evening meal and breakfast was stunning the staff were extremely nice and always on hand to help nothing was to much trouble, and the price was very reasonable we were very impressed and would most definitely recommend this hotel.

Booked a last minute night away via booking.com. So glad we chose this hotel. Check in was smooth. Room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The bottles of water always a plus for us. Cocktail I had was one of the nicest I tasted, cocktail menu was great. Lovely choice of soft abd alcoholic drinks. We had a vegetarian sharing platter which was delicious followed by the lamb sheppards pie which again was such good quality. Deserts were just as good followed by a special birthday surprise brownie. Very nice touch. Bar Staff were so friendly and attentive. Matt was fab and served us our breakfast the following morning too. Breakfast was again fantastic and plenty full. Check out following morning smooth. Definitely returning here.

Ideal Christmas Day dinner

Absolutely stunning would not hesitate to book again very relaxing

Wonderful hotel with amazing food

I am going to mention all the positives first of which there are many. 
The staff are unbelievably friendly with plenty of knowledge of the surrounding area. Our greeting on arrival was cheerful and immediately we felt welcome. The guys in the bar seemed to be happy in their jobs even though they worked long hours they were always polite happy and couldn’t do enough for you. 
The breakfast was amazing and plentiful 
We didn’t eat evening meals there as the menu was not to our liking so am unable to comment on this  
The room was spacious, clean with plenty of extras. My only criticism would be the room could have done with an update. 
On the down side my husband paid £20 for use of the spa which was a hot tub and sauna which were in need of a good clean and repair as one of the headrests in the hot tub fell off whilst we were using it and the sauna was a basic fee standing wooden structure. There was no pool
And use limited to one hour. We have stayed in lots of spa resorts and usually the use of facilities is included in the price although booking was a necessity, on the plus side my treatments were amazing and the girls were professional and again couldn’t do enough for you. 
Overall a good stay and will definitely be back

Recent weekend break

I went twice for an Afternoon Tea. It was so good, I had to repeat it!! 
The quality and the presentation is outstanding.  The most beautiful looking cakes and the highest quality food.
The service is amazing too. 
Laura Walburg made us feel so welcomed and special, she gave us the best service. Such a wonderful lady!

This is the first time our family have been out for Christmas Dinner and  I would like to thank everyone at the Wolfscastle Country Hotel for making it special. The venue was Christmasy, everyone was happy and welcoming. All the courses were delicious with plenty to eat. The Turkey dinner was fabulous.  Will definitely be back .

Christmas Dinner 2022

Had a brilliant time at the wolfcastle hotel and spa.
I took my girlfriend there for a surprise spa weekend and it couldn't have been any better.
The spa treatments were incredible and the staff in the spa were amazing. The hottub, and sauna were nice, and was made better because it was private. (They make it so you get an hour spa use before your treatment, and it's only you in there)
We enjoyed a free room upgrade due to a massive Xmas party going on, so we were away from all the noise.
The evening meal was very tasty and again, the bar staff were superb. Anything we wanted they we extremely helpful and couldn't do more.
In the morning we had breakfast which was also very nice, and then enjoyed another spa treatment before heading home.
Will 100% be going back again in the new year!
