Emma's Bed & Breakfast

My fiancé and I had the most incredible stay at Emma's B&B a few years ago. We think of it often, and truly regard it as one of the highlights of our trip throughout Sweden. Elina made us the most wonderful fish stew, which was heavenly after our long, snowy drive. She was kind enough to share the recipe and it has since become one of our regulars. In fact, I was thinking fondly on our experience at Emma's just now because I am making the stew tonight :-)

A beautiful old swedish house with all its charm. The staff was doing the little extra that makes a big difference. Nice and clean and everything fresh. Will definately return with my family and stay longer.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a nice spacious house with only 5 rooms. We were received by the friendly landlady who runs the place. The house is well situated on the golf course and there is a footpath to the harbor of Strömstad near a big hotel. From there one can take a small self service ferry to the city center. The B&B is very clean. Downstairs a large sitting room & lounge. Upstairs 3 small bedrooms and 2 larger ones.  Although the rooms are small everything is there including wonderful beds. Outside a large sun deck overlooking the golf course. The landlady is very nice and give each guest personal attention. So we recommend this place as a good alternative for a larger hotel as here you get the individual treatment which is like a warm bath.

The location is very nice and peaceful place. The staff is so friendly and helpful - they really make you feel welcome! The breakfast was really good and not something you see everywhere. I will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Close to the city centre of Strömstad - or even closer to the golf course - lies Emmas Bed and Breakfast. In the most charming surroundings lies this beautifull restored house which dates back to 1734! However, modern inside and charming rooms, excellent food and the very best hostess.  An easy choice when deciding where to stay!

Friendly staff, peaceful place

I have stayed at Emma's Bed and Breakfast twice. My first stay was in the summer of 2013, and I can still remember the wonderful and very special homemade breakfast we were served by a lovely woman. This was the main reason I booked this B&B for the second time. 

This time, the breakfast was served in the golf house, a 3 minute walk from the B&B. Which was not a problem itself, but the breakfast was a let down. It was a very standard continental breakfast with bread, milk, juice, yoghurt, cheese, eggs and bacon. Not eating in the house was a draw back, and the breakfast I believe I could have made better myself.

I understand that for many reasons it's not allways possible to have a big, special, homemade breakfast in the house. But without it, this B&B is kinda overpriced, and it should be mentioned somewhere upon booking that the breakfast is different and located somewhere else. And give a reduction in the price.

With that said, the house is lovely, beds wonderful to sleep in and the staff very friendly.
