Location, accommodation, host - all A+. 
This is a homestay so as long you don't expect a hotel when you're paying for Airbnb, this place will exceed your expectations!
Location: on a hill and views from the balcony make you feel like you're in the middle of a jungle. But you're not - you are 5 mins away from the main Ella street! And close enough to Nine Arch and Little Adam's Peak.
Stay: Excellent breakfast (pancakes, omelette, fruit, coconut roti, bread, juice and coffee). Nice comfortable room. 
Host: very friendly and helpful! 

Tips: 
1) If you have heavy luggage, worthwhile to pay your driver a little extra to help you haul the luggage up the stairs (there's no lift).
2) It gets chilly at night in Dec - ask for an extra blanket.



Hidden gem! 

Brilliant place, lovely hosts  great setting near the forest, accomodation clean, crisp and comfortable,breakfast fabulous, brilliant  value. About 15 minute walk from Ella station and 5 from main drag  but that said wonderfully removed from the hustle and  bustle . The owner let us store our bags during the day after we had checked out and also sorted us a  fair priced onward taxi. Faultless would highly recommend

Nothing to fault about this guesthouse. Three spacious huts situated in the jungle, close to Ella's main street. Ella center is in walking distance; it took us around 7 mins to reach the main strip of restaurants and shops. Our room, the location and the breakfast were all fantastic. Fruit platter, toast, roti, eggs and pancakes were prepared for us each morning and filled us up for the day. Thank you for our wonderful stay. Lily and Tas

Amazing stay

This was our favourite place to stay so far in Sri Lanka. Excellent location in Ella, can walk to mulitple of the must-do spots and the city centre. Breakfast so big every morning and staff so helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean. Wished we could have stayed much longer here!

Best place to stay in Sri Lanka

We were staying here for one night and iT was Very Nice. Our Little house had a terrace, Very comfortabel bed, warm shower and mini fridge. In the Morning Breakfast was served on our Own terrace which felt as a Luxury! IT was a full Breakfast that was Very tasty and that With Monkeys around us staring at our Bananas! 

~ Cosy and Great Service ~

The most friendly and welcoming stay I’ve had yet in Sri Lanka. The place is tucked away in the hillside, so you feel quite secluded. Really friendly and considerate staff, comfy room and a truly fabulous breakfast with fruit, pancakes, toas, rotti, fresh juice and coffee. Loved it!

Wonderful!!!

We are now staying in the "green lantern inn" and it is an amazing experience! the room is clean and warm and surrounded by trees, only 10 minutes from the city center. its just lovely and magical. 

the owner is a sweet pleasant man who helps us with any question and request and lets not forget about the huge and tasty breakfast!

an amazing place!

Small walk of the main road, there you will find the small guesthouse. Place looks quite new, as many in that area since there is a lot of development. One free standing bungalow in which we stayed and a building alike with two rooms. 
All look neat, they have there own private balcony. 
We were greeted with a welcoming paper at the door and by a really friendly and humble young man. 

Rooms are neat, have all amenities and blankets for the cold. They still might be a little cold if you are not so warm yourself. 
Bathroom spacious, good shower with sufficient water pressure, something hard to find at this price. 
Rooms are neat and clean. 

The breakfast was awesome! Set by the requested time we were treated with hoppers, breakfast pancakes, fresh fruit, and toast! All very decent! 

Overall great quality in this price range!

Very welcoming guesthouse

We stayed at the green lantern for 2 nights and it was great!! Everything is very clean and neat, the furniture is new and the hosts do everything to make you feel at home. The breakfast they serve could have fed me for both breakfast and lunch, very good and a lot!!! The only 'negative' thing I can think of is that the water pressure from the shower is not very high, but it is hot and definetely confortable. With a shortcut you can walk to the city centre in under 10 mins.

Great accommodation with the best hosts

We booked for 3 nights but the place was so amazing that we decided to extent our stay! The room was super clean and confortable, we had hot water everyday, the wifi was excellent, the breakfast was huge and delicious and we even had a fridge in the room, it's well situated 5 mins walk from the city center but in a quiet place in the "jungle" (we even saw monkeys and a porcupine!!). One of the best hotels we had in sri lanka, we recommend it to everyone!
